Hartmut Sinkwitz, head of Mercedes interior designDo we know who designed that interior?
M
Eugh, if that's the final design, it looks quite bad and tacked on. Far worse than what they already have. That's final design even though it does look haphazard. Looks to be the same screen from the CLA spy photos.
I wouldn't be surprised, when previous gen ML got facelift/rebranding to GLE, they gave it that hideous screen:Eugh, if that's the final design, it looks quite bad and tacked on. Far worse than what they already have.
Yeah, I remember, except this looks worse, because you can see the black plastic support bracket.I wouldn't be surprised, when previous gen ML got facelift/rebranding to GLE, they gave it that hideous screen:

Honestly , I'd blame W221 for that. The W222 S-class is for sure one of the best ever, it is still modern and stylish with a great interior. The double horizontal screen layout it brought out in 2013 is copied by so many cars now, even the next Audi models will use this, BMW have adapted it, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Opel, the names go on and on. Even the twin spoke steering wheel in a similar form is been used by many new cars.
That is due to the AMG.![]()
It will probably look something like this. Making it more in line with the current E-Class. I think it looks much better than the current face.

Instead of bringing the failed EQ style to the ICE side, they do the opposite![]()

Design harmonisation innit?Instead of bringing the failed EQ style to the ICE side, they do the opposite
Harmonize towards something new, or towards the ICE, do not take the good of the ICE towards the bad of EQDesign harmonisation innit?
Yeah, Schrempp was an asshole. But credit to the man, some of the best looking 21st century Mercedes were launched when he was the CEO. Besides the C215 was one of the last Mercedes designed under the supervision of Bruno Sacco.
