Looks a little Lexus-ish around the C pillar.

Very unspectacular - it doesn't even look American - they should look to the Lincolns from the 1940's, 50's, and early 60's for some inspiration.

Why does the US auto-industry just keep churning out this type of dross?

Very Japanese-like front, notably the lights!

The front lights look a lot like those on the Honda Accord (euro version). Since the americans are buying more and more japanese cars, and less of the domestic brands, i guess Lincoln figured out if they make japanese looking american cars, they maybe able to fool the average american buyer into purchasing one of their cars.

a pic of the Honda Accord

It's not such a bad looking car- it's just that it doesn't look like a Lincoln...more like an Accord bulked up on steroids.
My question is, "why?" Why imitate? Where's the innovation?
Ford Europe introduced a concept car, the Iosis, in the fall, that has Ford design dna, and extends it into the future. Ford U.S. is being way too careful, and as a result offers up retro or copy-cat for domestic consumption. Neither choice seems exciting.

Not bad, the cluster could have been better. A more Japanese look isnt a bad thing.

The rear looks like a Suzuki Forenza/Chevrolet Lacetti/Nubira (all are the ex-Daewoo Lacetti or Nubira anyway).

It does seem a little Japanese to me. The interior, however, is unmistakably American. Overall, not too bad, but it's decidedly B-grade..
