The Lexus LC, regardless of whether coupe or convertible, is one of the most exquisitely designed automobiles available today. In terms of eye-appeal, it defines "immaculate". And in this particular context, I suspect that many would agree that M-Bs' current SL doesn't come remotely close.

This is such a stunning car, one of the most beautiful convertibles around, it kills the SL and 8-series convertible for desirability,

This car is Japans' RR dawn. It's a jewel to behold if you want to own a car that is unusually close to a concept in design and attention to detail.

Dough isn't wrong though. Few people will buy it because of how saturated the luxury coupe sector is. even AM and BMW are struggling with selling enough Vantage and M8.

As you point out, nothing to do with brand image, even Lamborghini is struggling selling a Huracan over a rebadged Touareg. Vans are cool again!

I disagree with Doug about no one buying this car. LC sales will see an uptick for a few months at least and the convertible will likely become the best selling variant IMO. There are a few buyers left for this type of car.

As you say there are few buyers, and car makers want to stop models with few buyers. Hence no more V8TT from Lexus.

An uptick from an already small number though. This is truly a car where people say "wow look at that!" but don't actually sign the dotted line for purchase.

Yessir I know. It will never be a big seller no matter what. The segment just isn't there anymore. I wonder what type of reception the next SL will have. If they botch the looks it will instantly flop. It has to be a stunner to even have a chance at all.

Still waiting for the Convertible to reach us down here but did sit in the coupé last week. Interior quality is amazing - makes a 911's look like a Golf. NA V8 sounds perfectly fine - rather better than fine, actually. It may not exude the opulence of a Bentley Continental, but the build quality is truly impressive. If my fantasy garage needed a luxury GT in it - this would be it.
