Dont bash the 6er when the frontlights on SL look like crap. The front is ruined, thank God the rest is still the same.

And regarding Bangle and his team, Thank god for them, made bimmers more intresting to look at and many of them are beautiful with a few exceptions.

Hey now guys, dont bash the sl cos of the bmer. Not the sl's fault. Infact i think the bmer is ugly in its own right! But if someone likes it, fair is fair. Why not?
Also, whatever the reason for bmw's sale success, i doubt it's down to bangle or the dutch guy who took over from him. Its an open secret that bmw's mainstream models were designed in a more restrained way. Even the 7er had to be tapered down. I'm quite curious to see recent sales figures for the 6er and Z4. Having said that, mechanically and otherwise, you can't fault those cars, or indeed most anyother bmw. They're quite outstanding products. And as we're all too aware on this forum, BETTER CARS= BETTER SALES. Look at Audi, BMW and even Merc is 're-discovering' this fact after a somewhat dodgy spell of some sub-par vehicles and hence sales loss.

I still can`t stand the 6er, for the life of me! the design really sux! even in real life! I have seen 2 or 3 M6 cars in my area and I just can`t get with the design, (the M5 looks a little better) (no offence to klier) give me the f/l SL anytime, looks better with the sport pack as usual. I also like the 911 to, even though it`s showing it`s age a bit.

I was kidding you Just_Me, I perfectly understand that taste is very personal!
In fact I like the 6er, it's only the front I can't stand, it looks sad. Well, and the interior, too.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind owning any of these three...

^^Nope, because here there is absolutely no link between the edgy front and the soft side/rear. The new headlamps manage to be in the same time edgy and soft, and they link the new and old parts of the car, in a really beautiful and clever way.

can't wait to see it IRL...

Since I like the CLS, I think the front looks great!

It looks great on the CLS, but not on the SL. I only seem to like the SL a little with the AMG package as it seems to flow more with the headlight design. The regular SL looks terrible with 'em.

Maybe I need to see it in real life first.

I think you are right. I remember when I first saw the CLS, in a picture and I thaught Mercedes was out of their minds. In real lift there is not much to say, it is fabulous... I think it might be the same with this one.

Believe it or not I too didn't like the CLS when I first saw it in pictures. In real life, it was stunning however.

Maybe the new SL will grow on me, but I have a feeling it might now. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Well i don't like the CLS either but i don't hate it just neautral feelings towards it but i really love the SL now
