Much better pics of the car, shame about the horsepower though. 0-62 in 5.0 secs is good though. I wonder how light this car is.

it appears to me that the new MMI has bigger screen than the one on the older versions.

may be i am seeing things.

interesting.

I like the one below.

Anyone else think these official pics make a world of difference from the leaked photo's?????? They most certainly have for me.

i still don't get why there 2 different positionings of the MMI buttons (dash and transmission tunnel) and hwy there are 2 diferent possible CD interfaces on the dash that seem to sport a similar array of buttons.

what would warrant such drastic changes?

and i am not a fan of wood for wood's sake. i.e. a couple of thin strips on the doors and around teh gears to give a sembl;ance of woody lux, however the quality, either incorporate properly or don't

aand i still hold firm to what i said abot the design before

Why are the gauges now bluish in colour, have they ditched the white/black with red needles combo?

Observation: Reading the press release it says that there is only one automatic transmission currently available; an 8spd multitronic CVT tranny on FWD onjly, no DSG or Tiptronic. This is very unusual that they'd only have one transmission available w/ Quattro (6spd manual). Hopefully we'll get some updated info rather soon.

Snippet taken from Autoweek A5 article:

U.S. sales of the 2008 A5 and S5 begin in November with the 3.2-liter, 265-hp V6 as the primary A5 engine offering. Both models launch with six-speed manual transmissions with six-speed automatics appearing three months later for the A5 and six months later in the S5. Although front drive is available in Europe, all U.S. models come equipped with quattro all-wheel-drive.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
