We're not mad on:

1) Sounds a bit like an angry Dyson.
2) Slightly lacking in soul compared to certain Italian rivals.
3) Inadvertent time travel due to relativity issues at near the speed of light.****

These guys couldn't think of anything legitimatlely wrong with the Turbo. :usa7uh:

At least they are comparing the sound to a Dyson and not a Dirt Devil.

....but the outgoing model still had an edgy side to its personality which endeared it to us even more.
Interestingly the August 2006 issue of Excellence magazine in their 997 TT article had the following to say:
Excellence said:
....(996 TT) made for an extremely fast 911 Turbo that was also so progressive that it usually felt "civilized fast" rather than "aggressively fast".

The attitudinal shift in the new Turbo towards the latter is readily apparent.
Where the 997-based GT3 has become more comfortable for everyday use than its predecessors ever was, the new 911 Turbo appears to be getting a bit harder, a bit more aggressive.

So, I guess the only thing left to do is to try them out and see how you feel about the car yourself...

Aggressive? Wait for the GT2!
I know you've got the same article available to you, and most likely some other contributors here have it as well, but for those who don't, here's a snippet from this article regarding the GT2:

"Finally, for those who want the ultimate turbocharged 997, a new GT2 is under development and will meld the superb chassis of the GT3 with a rear-drive version of the Turbo's powertrain."

I'm glad the 997 turbo is so good, unlike other cars, it stopped ever being on the top, and this model just pushes it even higher!
