I've heard it's a massive improvement over the 650S, but then, I have not seen the car, so I will wait to comment till we see the official images

Doubtful, all the info thus far, including the McLaren Automotive website seems to be pointing at a release on March 7th, when the press days get under way (unless if there is a major prior leak, of course)

McLaren 720S 2017: new spy photos of the expected 650S replacement
        (26 pictures)

We bring you some new spy photos of the McLaren 720S (known internally as McLaren P14) before its imminent debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 next March. It will be positioned as the replacement of the current 650S and the first model of the new generation of the McLaren Super Series.

The start of the new McLaren 720S is just around the corner. The expected replacement of the current McLaren 650S will debut next March at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 and although recently leaked a picture during a private presentation to a select group of media and wealthy customers of the British firm, we have managed to hunt Again in the street and in the light of day.

Spy photo of the McLaren 720S, the expected successor of the 650S.

Of course, in these spy shots we still see a fully camouflaged unit. Under all these elements is the first model of the new generation of the McLaren Automotive Super Series . During these last months the British manufacturer has been sporadically revealing some of the more technical features of his new model. This is a more advanced, lightweight, dynamic and safe supercar.

One of the great innovations that will premiere the McLaren 720S will be the new engine called M840T of the British firm. It is a 4.0-liter twin turbo engine that will replace the current 3.8-liter V8 block. While the current engine delivers a range of powers ranging from 540 hp to 737 hp (without taking into account the GT3), the new block developed by McLaren will allow to reach 720 hp .

According to the data of the own McLaren, thanks to this mechanics will be able to accelerate from 0 to 200 km / h in just 7.8 seconds . A number of scandal and more if compared to many other coupés that need that time to be able to complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h respectively.

The new McLaren 720S will debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2017.

We have also learned that the new 720S will offer a Drift mode with which to delight the lovers of the driving. The new McLaren supercar will have three modes of driving: Comfort, Sport and Track. The "Drift option" will only be available for the latter two. Another novelty is the new level achieved in the system «Proactive Chassis Control» now has 12 sensors compared to the previous version of this system. The suspension has greater control over each of the wheels.

The McLaren 720S 2017 will be built on a new ultra-lightweight structure with a carbon fiber core (Monocage II), which, in the end, will result in lighter weight. This new model will be 18 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, the McLaren 650S.

When will it hit the market? As we have said, firstly it will be presented at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show 2017 in the month of March. We assume that its official marketing will start shortly after the model has already been shown in private by the brand.

At this point they can just release it officially. From all the leaks and spy/sneak shots I have a good image now of how the final car will look inside and out.

now i understand why they picked that camouflage, in a picture you can see the shape of the car well enough, but trying to focus while it's moving and your eyes will get confused by the optical illution

They will drop when this thread reaches Page 14...

Looks like mclaren aren't messing about, not trying to match the 488 but trying to take it to another league. Impressive stats so far and from the snippets/spy shots we have seen it will be a looker too. Mclaren are doing a fantastic job after the initial 12c woes. Drove a 570s and it was just fantastic, very impressed with how far they have come

McLaren needs to legnthen their lifecycles from two to three years on their cars. That way the dealers aren't under so much pressure to sell out of the last model before the new one arrives. Just look at the discounts for the 650s from 2015...

Maybe this video and all shots that @WBarnes has posted in this page are not enough. Others photographers have got less shots than me and nothing of video ;)
