GT-R 2017 Nissan GT-R races into New York with 565 hp

The Nissan GT-R (Gran Turismo–Racing; model code: R35) is a series of cars built by Nissan from 2007 to 2025. It has a 2+2 seating layout and is considered both a sports car and a grand tourer. The engine is front-mid mounted and drives all four wheels. It succeeds the Nissan Skyline GT-R, a high-performance variant of the Nissan Skyline. The car is built on the PM platform, derived from the FM platform used in the Skyline and Nissan Z models. Production is conducted in a shared production line at Nissan's Tochigi plant in Japan.

It's official, slightly retuned exterior, new interior (seems a significant improvement), small power boost.

The Nissan GT-R has been facelifted for the 2017 model year. It features new styling, an upgraded cabin and an even more powerful V6 engine. It's on display at the New York motor show, and will go on sale in the UK later this year.
The upgraded GT-R features a new interpretation of Nissan’s ‘V-motion' front grille, along with a reinforced bonnet and new bumper design, said to give the car more downforce. The metallic orange paint of the show car is new, too.
Along the sides, the sills have been widened to improve air flow, while the rear gets a reprofiled bumper to sit alongside its quad exhaust tips. Nissan says these changes are designed to make the GT-R more aerodynamically efficient, and help to keep the car stable at high speeds.

Billed as the most significant update to the model since it was introduced in 2007, the 2017 GT-R features an all-new front fascia with a revised V-motion grille and larger air intakes. The car has also been equipped with a restyled hood that has pronounced character lines which help to "enhance stability during high speed driving." Additional changes are limited but the GT-R Premium gains a new titanium exhaust system and all 2017 models feature a revised color palette that now includes Blaze Metallic.

The woefully dated interior has finally been shown some love as designers installed a new leather wrapped dashboard, a revised center stack, and a new infotainment system with a larger 8-inch display. Drivers will also find more comfortable seats, new steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, and an Active Noise Cancellation system which helps to filter out unwanted noises. Last but not least, the GT-R has been equipped with acoustic glass and additional sound deadening material to help create a more comfortable driving environment.

Power is provided by a familiar a biturbo 3.8-liter V6 engine but it has now been tuned to produce 565 horsepower which is an increase of 20 hp.

The 2017 GT-R will go on sale this summer and pricing will be announced closer to launch.

I don't like the interior update but it's good to see Nissan is still spending money on its flagship so late in its model cycle.

The new dashboard shows how impossible it is to incorporate eyeball air-con vents with the now de-rigueur large LED infotainment screen.

The face lifted exterior looks great, aggressive and distinctive without being excessive. The interior is far less successful, it seems like they kept most of the hard points and that free standing display is absolutely horrible. Its like Nissan pulled it straight from a Micra and taped it there.

Aww, they're trying to retrofit some luxury to this thing. Looks more like an Infiniti inside, but borderline tacky/overdone.

Thank you. I thought it was only me who thinks the Infotainment screen and its buttons look cheap.

Nissan could at least have pushed the envelop a little bit towards this render:

it has been stated that this is the last facelift before an all-new R36 model, how long it will last has not been stated

Given how extensive this update is, I will say another 3 years before the all new R36 model is introduced.
