I think it is realistic scenario that F1 fans and reporters would love to ignore and are trying to ignore. Mclaren fans wanted to put the scandal behind them as soon as it broke. Having said that, I probably mentioned it a few times already, but still it is not fair for you to say I want another FIA inquiry. The F1 bosses might think that controversy is good. However, the spy stories of last year made be less interested in this season.

I just don't believe it is realistic that the other teams have forgotten the spy scandal or completely left it behind them. They know they have a big excuse to go after Mclaren off the track if things go Mclaren's way.

Sure the spy scandal has not been forgotten, especially by the red team. But Mclaren has served their sentence and as long as they don't engage in dodgy activities then they are winning fair and square. Ranting about the spy scandal will certainly not help a losing team scoring any points and as long as Mclaren has FIA and the regulations on their side they are untouchable.

As for tomorrows race it will be really great to see who will be able to push the car to the limit while conserving the tires, it will be more difficult without the aid of TC.

I thought you were in the FIA is pro-Ferrari camp. Anyway, it is not a rant about the '07 spy scandal. It is a rant against the way the FIA has, in my opinion, found a quick, half-arsed fix for the concerns over the '08 car.

If you looked at the FIA technical inquiry over the '08 car and the decisions that resulted from it, it seems to me that the FIA may have left the door wide open for an eventual Ferrari protest. At that point everyone will sharpen their FIA is Ferrari knives again.

Back in December, I wrote that the FIA should have stamped out all doubt surrounding whether the '08 car has stolen ideas/designs. That way Ferrari and the other teams cannot make a controversy of it later, so stop insisting I'm defending Ferrari.

wow what a race. only 7 finishers.

You guys gotta watch it. Drivers are making unsual mistakes everywhere without the TC and surprisingly the reliability of the cars aren't great as well, even after thousands and thousands kms of testing. What a start for a new F1 season.

0 out of 6 Ferrari engines made it to the end of the race.

Either way, I'm still not a fan of Hamilton. And I thought Alonso is still the bomb. Props to Heidfeld for being consistent. Shame that Kubica couldn't do the same or else BMW would have been off to a flying start.

What a shity race, kudos to BMW, Robert got simply incredible bad luck du to SC and Kamikaze Nakajima, Nick again flawless. Kudos to Hami who simply was uber phenomenal, he's probably the only one who never did a fault, and moreover he mainted an unreal pace. Ferrari did a shitttttttttyyyyyyyyyy race, both teams & derivers screwed it.

I can't believe how badly Ferrari did as a team and their drivers. Massa spun in 1st corner and then Kimi lost his cool in several occasions. This doesn't look like the performance of a champion team. What actually happened to Robert, was he it from behind ? Nakajima scored 2 points which is good. Honda must be over the moon with Rubens finishing 6th after all the dramas with the low fuel and pit penality.

Webber has zero luck as per usual, feel sorry for the guy. Sebastien Bourdais was going to have a very good debut finish and points until the Ferrari engine expires.

Not to mention the badass SL 63 safety car gets a decent workout in this race. The car looks evil and it sounds like a monster.
