I am not sure if it has been brought up before, but has anyone noticed that the navi screen is a little bit small especially for an SAV?

Although i would like it to be a little bit bigger, especially because it's an SAV as you've said, i don't mind it at all. It looks good and it's on the right place!

:t-cheers:

I don't think it looks bad at all. It's good.

I just wish it was a little bit bigger.

Maybe I have to see it in person.

In fact you brought up a really good question... Now when i look at it, in mine car the screen looks wider...:t-hands:

Eni?

:t-cheers:

In my opinion the photo shows the iDrive without the Navigation module! The E60 screen is also smaller when you don't choose the navigation!

BINGO! :usa7uh:

I was about to say that too, ree... Thanks, man!:usa7uh:

:t-cheers:

The navi screen on our E320 is also pretty small, but the print is readable. I've never had any problems with it, even when I am operating it without my glasses.

Don't worry about it, BMW engineers aren't stupid. :D

You are right Ree. THat's probably an X5 without NAV. Therefore you don't need the split maps and what not, which takes up a lot of space.

I think for a car as expensive as the X5, NAV should be standard.

God, i love this interior. The shift knob, the parking thing, the I-drive knob, everything is perfect!!!

People here are just on top of stuff. Really impressive. I can't even begin to tell you how much I've learnt from this forum. It will definitely help me later on as mechanical engineer.

Thanks for this post, warot! :usa7uh: This is exactly what's this site about; learn, inform yourself, share expirience and have fun doing what you love at the same time!

My God, how i love GCF!!!:usa7uh:

:t-cheers:

Nothing new here. iDrive without NAV comes with a smaller screen. And so do the models with a standard NAV, while NAV Pro comes with a large screen.

Yep, ancient info... :D

Oh well, good to see this cleared up!

Off topic ..

Eni: I have a Question for you bro, which company supplies BMW for their surround system especially those without Logic7. I mean my car doesn't have the logic7 thing but the srround system is still nice, which manufacturer supplies the speekers and woofers ?

Logic 7 is a brand name by Harman/Kardon for audio processing algorithm developed initially for high-end car audio systems .

A better approach to sound: Logic 7®
When the engineers at Harman Kardon set out to find ways to improve the playback of multichannel sound, they came up with significant improvements that build upon recent advancements in digital technology and take them to the next level: Logic 7.® Originally developed for high-end processors and now featured in luxury automobiles, Logic 7 processing is now part of every A/V receiver we offer. With Logic 7, proprietary digital algorithms are used to create a more cohesive and enveloping sound field from the tens of thousands of analog matrix soundtracks currently available. Logic 7 is not only capable of resolving either five or seven channels from a two-channel source; it increases the accuracy with which sounds are directed to the center and surround channels, for more precise reproduction of the original soundtrack.

Btw, to shock you all: Harman/Kardon is only one of many well-known audio system brands owned by Harman International Industries Inc. Other brands owned by HII:

Mark Levinson
JBL
Infinity
Becker
Harman Becker
Revel
Crown
Lexicon
etc

I had no clue, especially when it came to Becker and Mark Levinson. Very interesting information, thanks.

i'm sorry...I'm not a sound guy. The only sound I like is the engine revving.
