| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 Interesting to say the least. Sorta mixed opinions about the exterior. The interior is good as usual. To be honest the headlights remind me of the Ford Mondeo headlights, and I'm not digging the grill, seems like the car has that mask on that Hannibal Lecter wears. The first picture somehow makes me think of the 1-series from the side too. Will take some getting used too, but I can come to like it!. But the interior is great! Anyway thats my opinion. Btw its Tokyo not Tokio. Last edited by Gene; 10-11-2005 at 07:30 AM. |

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 Interesting. The production car will probably be shaped like the current TT and not like an A3 which the concept is. I'm also suprised that the interior doesn't feature the MMI. |

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 Translation from AM&S article: AUDI TT Shooting Brake Concept: The Heart Braker Star of Tokyo's Auto show is the AUDI TT Shooting Brake an exciting Concept Car, with which the Ingolstaedter marque would like to plumb the public echo led away to a 2+2 sports car with rear flap, next TT. Particularly in the visor: the hearts of female customers. Faster, higher, further: AUDI boss Martin Winterkorn turns to innovation. He wants to sell one million car annually starting from 2008 - that can become posiuble only with new products in all segments. Therefore the 4.18 meters long , 1.84 wide and 1.35 high concept study Shooting Brake (wheel base of 2470 millimeters) spreads. It looks already very realistically, is however still somewhat oversubscribed with the lattice grill and the LED lights. The Shooting Brake Concept is based on the next TT (sales start for the Coupe in the autumn 2006, Cabrio half year later) and embodies a mixture from sports cars and combination - with place for a pair with appendix. In the rear the sport combination offers two seats with sufficiently leg and head liberty. Into the baggage compartment 255 litres fit purely, with turned down rear seat-back even 730 of litres. The engine is a V6 with 3,2 litres capacity and 250 HP which is intended to be combined with six-gearbox and Quattro drive. As road performances AUDI calls six seconds for keeps in track from zero on 100 km/h as well as 250 km/h the maximum speed (electronically limited).Later also a V6-Power-Diesel will be available. In the shock absorbers a liquid is used instead of oil, whose viscosity can be varied depending upon roadway condition by an electromagnetic field. The driver can select two programs before: comfortably or sporty. AUDI calls the system Magnetic Ride. Hightech also are the brakes: Four disks from carbon fiber reinforced ceramic team up with 19 inch wheels with spokes and tires of the dimension 245/40. Beautiful new world also in the cockpit: On the Touchscreen monitor the driver can activate the basic adjustments...and the Navi system is so intelligent that it announces the driver, like a Rallye copilot the, next curve and also the optimal gear and speed. Whether AUDI builds the TT Shooting Brake will only be decided after the show.

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 Nothing ground-breaking here w. the shooting brake concept. Audi's vaunted exterior design prowess seems to be in something of a rut- how many variations must we see of the shield grille? This is just a nice tid-bit for fans until the real thing comes along. There've been a couple threads on another website from an Audi "insider" that suggests the new TT will be very avant- envelope breaking exterior design that goes far beyond the photoshops that are finding their way onto the web. |

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 The front lights remind me of Ford Focus, new S class and some Japanese cars. Perhaps with the normal Auto Union grille (without the vertical chrome strips) the TT will be better. Overall i 'm not excited. I was expecting much more.

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 Guys, remember that this is a concept and that the product car might not end up looking totally like this concept. So.......when will the production car be presented, Geneva, Paris or what? |

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 BTW AM&S must have made a mistake for the wheelbase. It should be 2570 mm like in Golf and A3.

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 I really really like this car, great design inside and out. Hopefully this car performs as good as it looks! If the TT has the nose and tail of this car, it will be one of the hotttest designs to ever come out of Germany, as well as to grace the current TT w/ a worthy replacement. |

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 You know what guys, I don't even think that this is a TT concept. The official name doesn't even include TT. This is a completely new model which doesn't have got anything to do with the TT. |

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 I like the side profile - Audi is finally adding some excitement to thier designs. From what I can see the rear will be a bolder evolution of current TT - like it. But I dislike the front due to too generic headlights shape. ![]() Cough, Maybach Exelero, cough ... ![]() Btw, I guess the new grill (vertical bars; four rings on the hood instesd on grill) is not accidental. I predict Audi will go with this configuration on some future models (new A4 / A5 maybe?). They can not stick to current grill and "one sausage, different lenghts" design forever - they will need to differ designs of different series sooner or later. So, expect features like reversed trapezoidal grill, vertical bar grill pattern, four rings moved to hood (ala MB - sedans wear the Star on a hood, other models in a grill), more diverse head- and rear lights, etc. Last edited by EnI; 10-11-2005 at 06:29 PM. |

| Re: Audi TT shooting-brake at Tokio 2005 It's rather odd looking. I'm not sure if I like it or not. It's got some nice design elements, but others just arent very attractive i.e the headlights, grill, bonnet, some fussy side creases etc. I would be extremely dissapointed if this was the new TT. |
