| 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures Although its rumored that the 2007 - 2008 Model Year Toyota Corolla will be officially revealed in Japan in mid October (some even say that we might see a concept version at the Paris International Motor Show this month), we've been seeing quite a lot of scanned pics lately. This time Nihoncarandbike site has posted a whole set of scanned pics from a Japanese car magazine called Driver. By the looks of it, these pictures are from a leaked brochure kit that fell in the hands of the magazine's reporters. Judging from the scanned images, the 10th Generation of the Corolla seems to be inspired from the latest Yaris and Avensis models (Toyota's European mid-sized sedan). ![]()

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures I still can't see anything. I hope the new Corolla doesn't look like an egg like the new Yaris.

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures Darn that Corolla is hideous. Draws inspiration from the Yaris I see, which is like drawing inspiration from a tractor to design a car.

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures looks like a mixture between the current model and the Yaris, and it looks dead boring. The Honda Civic hatch kills it. The interior is a sea of grey. So this is what they have come up with after the order to reskin the new design. massively disappointed. |

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures Now i see the photos. It looks cheap and boring just like it should. Toyota buyers don't care about design anyway so this is going to be a hit for sure.

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures Yeah, this is certainly a bit of a disappointment. It looks pretty featureless and egg-like, though admittedly the photo angles don't help one bit. I'm still holding out some hope - but only the faintest glimmer. Plus, why would you throw away the Corolla nameplate? Nissan tried it here with replacing "Pulsar" with "Tiida" - and flopped, possibly because the name was unfamiliar, because it was not easy to pronounce for Westerners, and also probably because it's a crap car. Well, the Civic isn't to my liking, Nissan's Tiida or Verso or whatever sux, and this Corolla isn't so crash hot either. Bring on the next Mazda 3, Impreza and Lancer. |

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures About the name: It seems only the hatchback (which will be produced in the UK for the European market) will be called Auris, the sedan (produced in Turkey like the current one) will continue to be called Corolla.

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures No, no, no and no, about the name (what Mike said) and definitely about the look! Sorry but you can sell cars this way. You've got to make something really good to win. The competition is really tough! BTW, i don't like any of the new Toyotas!

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures This is such a boring design typical Toyota! I sometimes wonder how Toyota sells so many cars, when they look as bad as this! |

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures Actually, i wouldn't say that the current Corolla is a very boring car, but not an exciting one either. It is what i call just ok, so that its target group is just as big as it can get. I could see my 25 year old friend that is sitting 2 meters away from me now in a Corolla, but i can even see my 94 years old grandfather in one. It can be bought by anyone, without any bad comments. And it IS SAID to be reliable. That's why it sells good. As for the new one, don't ask me. It doesn't look good to me, but the people who would buy a Toyota obviously think in a different way. PS. Those who buy Land Cruisers, think the right way. I am talking about the rest of the Toyota buyers

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures This will be a winnder for Toyota. Not overly daring, but clean, modern, contemporary and will last forever. And the interior... ![]() Hmmm, VW may not have it all to its own in terms of interior quality...

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures I like that dash pattern. I'm sick of imitation leather patterns. Plastic should be proud of what it is; it's come so far these days. It is a nice interior design overall. Quite coherent. Too bad about the exterior, which is really quite boring. Then again, I would argue that many who buy Toyotas aren't that concerned about the exterior looks. |

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures ![]() That is a direct copy of VW Golf interior. Even the buttons on the Nav (btw first time that a NAV is offered in a European Corolla) are identical to VW buttons. And then some people wonder why i have no respect for Toyota/Lexus. They are the biggest copycats in the automotive industry.

![]() ![]() I also see some resemblance with the nav buttons but other than there's no similar details. Last edited by bmer; 10-06-2006 at 12:00 PM. | |

| Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures I see a lil' bit of the VW navi going on there, but that's probably just a matter of form following function. Toyota knows how to bolt together an un-cheap interior, but they don't know how to detail it the way the Germans do (or even Honda, for that matter). That said - the above shot looks very impressive. Also - about the Corolla brand. I'm convinced that the world "Corolla" has become so synonymous with "Boring, bland, vanilla" that Toyota wouldn't really suffer if they scuttled the name altogether. Seriously. Even though its a staple in their lineup, it has zero youth appeal. |

It may not be the most beautiful car out there, but it is known for great reliability. The other one, has an older one, back from 1991, it used to be his fathers, and has no major problems with it. Actually no problems at all, while my 16 years old Renault Clio is parked i-don't-know-where after a leak in the cooling system which left the car without cooling at all! As i said in a previous post, the Corolla design, is something that would match every possible owner. From a 18 years old univercity student, to a 150 years old woman.. Regarding the possible copy of the SatNAv buttons/layout, there must be hundreds of them in the market, and it is absolutely impossible that all look different! ![]()
