That 8:11 was done by Walter Röhrl (Porsche-claim again), Horst von Saurma did 8.25 min. As you said, on the dry Nordschleife.

i know but sportauto published the time... it's not Röhrl problem that audi doesn't claim times!

HvS did mentioned that 8.11 min time in the article, but only because he was not able to reached that - according to him - "optimistic claim of Porsche."

Not bad when you consider it weighs more and is slower in a straight line than the E60. Made it up somewhere else...Not to mention AMG's with the exception of perhaps the C63 are not 'me too' products they've been doing their own thing for years now...

Its called progress which BMW and MB are good at and in 5 years a lot happens. Thank Godness.

Nontheless , wonder what the differences is with a E63 with performance package vs without performance package.

Which is very refreshing, a manufacturer that is confident in its products and keep doing what it does best... wish there were more just like it.

^ Why is C63 'me too'? They been doing that segment to for a long time too now. In fact 190E 2.5-16 came even before E30 M3.

Anyway, great time by E63. I know C63 usually gets the credit for being the new breed of AMG, where handling is also important and not just brute force, but I think it really is E63.

But up until recently, the 16v must be regarded as something of an oddity. Today, however, AMG is moving fast in the right direction, at least if you are an old M fan...

Sacrificing large amounts of comfort for handling was not a trademark for the sporty C's until the W204 AMG.

08:11 is the time, Porsche published shortly before the introduction of the Cayman. It was never officially confirmed but a lot of web resources refer to sport auto issue 07/05. Funny. As said before - a TT RS will kick my Cayman S' ass @ NOS.
Marketing victims can be said to who believe in magazines only because the cayman s pdk proved all around the world (magazines factory claim..) that it is noticeably faster..
why should it be confirmed it is obviously true or is it slower than a Megane R26.R?? no nor the 08 pdk

@Nordschleife? Sorry guy ... I think you'd better check your sources. On the straight line and @ NOS (where you need power), the TT RS is proved as faster than the 987 C DFI PDK. Even with his weak brakes. @ Hockenheimring, the Cayman S is faster, because chassis, suspension and balance become more important.

But now BTT, c'mon...

i said around the world not just one magazine check that out
Porsche Cayman S(facelift) PDK vs Audi TT-RS Coupe - FastestLaps.com

give me one head to head comparison where the tt-rs is faster than a caymans PDK..in tracks

you should believe in several magazines tests and factory claim too not just sport auto who give's damn about just one german magazine??

Nordschleife 8:06 8:09
Hockenheim Short 1:13.9 1:15.0
Autozeitung test track 1:40.6 1:41.8
Contidrom 1:36.52 (ESP on) 1:42.7 (partly damp)
SportAuto wet handling test 1:34.4 1:37.2
Rockingham 1:37.07 (wet) 1:37.79 (wet)
Kinnekulle raceway 1.04,6 1.05,4

acceleration:
0-50km/h: 1,8 1.6 seconds
0-100km/h: 4.6 4.6 seconds
0-160km/h: 10,3 10,9 seconds
0-200km/h: 17,0 17,3 seconds
1/4mile 12.9 13.0

as you can see the cayman s trash the tt-rs for good.

hilalpro is on a distinguished road
so if porsche claimed 4.8 to 100 km/h for the cayman s pdk and sportauto was the only magazine that had chance to test it and they get only 5.5 to 100 km/h does that mean that the cayman s is only capable of 5.5 to 100km/h in this case i would go with factory claim because who know's that's the case of the Nordschleife lap time im always with the fastest possible numbers..
the gt-r is capable of 7:26 zr1 too who give a damn about sport auto slower time they can't drive seriously as much or as good the same car as a factory driver..
