Yes, I'm very aware of that. Just wondering where they got that time and whether Sportauto's time will be close to that.

Either its a factory time or a driver from Autobild. Autobild sometimes do N-ring laptimes with different drivers, like the factory driver. In Mercedes case its Klaus Ludwig.

7.52 min - Porsche 997 Turbo
HvS did a new fast lap on the Ring with another testcar. The result was 2 seconds faster than the Supertest time.

Still not better than Z06.

But then again, the 997 turbo is not that focused on track driving. Even Porsche has admitted that the turbo is bought by autobahn cruisers in their late middle ages... not that sporty in my book.

Any one have E36 and E30 M3 time? Were they were ever tested by Sport Auto? TIA.

Sure does! But then again, seems amlost every range topping model goes soft only to make room for something even more hardcore.

In March 1997 the M3 with SMG (first generation) was tested by Sport Auto. The ring time was 8:35.

And to make you feel very good, the W202 C43 AMG had a time of 8:51, the B5 S4 had a time of 8:42, and the W203 C32 AMG had a time of 8:37. The E36 M3 was pretty damn fast in comparison to its main competition.

Hehe, thanks. It does feel good, but I have to make do with lowly 240hp US version of the E36 M3 which probably wouldn't have been able to match those times.

I think we already have the time for M3 (8:03) though it is not officialy out yet.

Good time, but since its not officiall i guess we do not know much about details yet. Not even if it is the correct time...

Both could be right, one time with the drivers package and one without. Seems like about the difference R-tires and rised v-max limiter could do.

Agreed. I heard that the M3 with Cups and Drivers pack did the ring around 8.02-8.03 mins. That should be right, IMO.

Tomorrow: new Sport Auto with the 997 GT2 Supertest. Let see, Hockenheimring in 1.10,5 min and Nordschleife in 7.36-7.37 min... IMO.
0-100 km/h will be around 3,7 s and 0-200 km/h in between 11,0 and 11,5 seconds. 80-120 km/h in 4th...... maybe in 2,6 s
