| Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007 Even with "just" 200hp/L, i am curious to see if they succeded to make it reasonnably reliable, otherwise i don't see where is the big acheivement in putting an old f1 engine in a,street car.

| Re: International Engine of the Year Awards 2007 That's true. Lifespan/durability/reliability will be critical. [ Giving its extreme capabilities for a production car it can (probably) kill you, literally, before the engine fails. ] However what bugs me, is how they got 700 HP at just 10200 rpms from a 3.5 spec. Usually at 10k to 11k, the 3.5 spec V8s delivered 600 to 650 hp. The 700 to 750 hp barrier meant rpms of over 14k. I suspect they used some V10 era technologies, now banned on the 2.4 V8 spec., and previously not available on the 3.5 spec. |
