We were eagerly waiting for EVO to get their hands on a 2013 Porsche Cayman S, so it was nice to watch Mr. Meaden behind the wheel of one. So far we haven’t caught any member of the international automotive press complaining about the all new Cayman, but EVO’s opinion has a special weight for the more hardcore driving enthusiasts.

Porsche just announced a new power upgrade and a new series of personalisation products for the 911 Carrera S. To begin with, the power of the 3.8l boxer engine is increased to 430 hp (316 kW) from 400 hp (294 kW), which results in only 4 seconds for the zero to 100 km/h with PDK in Sport Plus mode. The top speed is also increased to 306 km/h with PDK and to 308 km/h with a seven-speed manual gearbox, yet the fuel consumption figures remain unchanged.

These enhancements of the Carrera S’es performance are a result of small changes to the electronic engine management system and special cylinder heads with different camshafts and an entirely new variable resonance intake system design with six air flaps and a resonance flap. An additional radiator is installed to prevent overheating and a new sport exhaust system that is equipped with two sets of twin tailpipes guarantees an amazing sound.

As far as the visual upgrades are concerned, the new front apron features the air intakes from the Sport Design package is combined with a fixed rear spoiler in legendary “ducktail” form. The Aerokit Cup offeres an additional fixed rear wing over the rear spoiler and a special front spoiler lip with additional air intakes. More power for the 911 Carrera S and new personalisation products

Stuttgart. For its exceptionally performance-oriented customers, Porsche Exclusive now offers a new power enhancement kit developed for the 911 Carrera S. It focuses specifically on the dynamic properties of the sports car. It boosts the power of the 3.8-litre boxer engine from 400 hp (294 kW) to 430 hp (316 kW), producing even better driving performance. Thanks to this Powerkit, the 911 Carrera S Coupé only needs 4.0 seconds to sprint from zero to 100 km/h with PDK in Sport Plus mode. The kit also increases the top speed by four km/h: to 306 km/h with PDK and to 308 km/h with a seven-speed manual gearbox. However, the enhanced power has not affected fuel economy: fuel consumption values in the NEDC are unchanged despite a power increase of over seven per cent.

Stuttgart. At 48, the Porsche 911 Carrera is younger than ever: The completely redesigned generation of the sports car icon is stepping into the limelight with its flat, stretched silhouette, exciting contours and precisely designed details, yet from the very first glance it remains unmistakably a 911. True to the 911 tradition, the distinctive Porsche design language with its tendons and muscles exudes power and elegance.

The 100 millimetre (~ 3.9 inches) longer wheelbase and reduced height combined with the up to 20-inch wheels underpin the athletic appearance. At the same time, the typical sports car compact exterior dimensions were retained. Seen from the front, the eye is drawn to the 911’s trademark wide-arched wings. They emphasise the wider front track, so that the new 911 Carrera models sit even more solidly on the road. The remodelled exterior mirrors are accommodated on the upper edge of the door and not as before on the mirror triangle. Not only is this aerodynamically advantageous, it also emphasises the new design line and visual impression of width.
