
After the first photos of the 991 911 Carrera 4 leaked to the web, the official press release was released today. So, Porsche just announced another generation of 911 with the excellent rear biased PTM, Porsche Traction Management, the brand’s active all wheel drive system. The new AWD 911 is launched in four versions, the Carrera 4 and 4S in either Coupe or Cabrio form. Design, suspension, engines and gearboxes are shared with the RWD version, with the only difference being the, widened by 44mm, rear section (rear wheels housings) and the 10mm wider rear tyres.
All Carrera 4 and 4S come with the 7 speed manual gearbox as standard, with the PDK being available as an option. According to Porsche the 350hp 911 Carrera 4 Coupe has a 0-100km/h of 4.5sec, compared to the 4.1sec of the 400hp Carrera 4S. The Carrera 4 and 4s will make their public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, with sales starting towards the end of this year.
Prices in Germany are 97,557 euros for the 911 Carrera 4 Coupé and 110,290 euros for the Cabriolet. The 911 Carrera 4 S costs 112,313 euros as a Coupé and 125,046 euros as a Cabriolet.
