From the owner of these two cars

well , well , well , where do i start . after picking up the 430 on wednesday and driving it back to brisbane thursday , it is appealing to me more and more . i will note some of the differences between the 430 and the CS.

1: 430 has more torque and HP , it pulls harder from all gears as would be expected . a short race against my GT2 which i was driving and the 430 just won . the 430 had a full tank of fuel ( 95 litres ) and the GT2 was a quarter full ( 15 litres ) plus the 2 weighs in at about 1370 kg and the 430 would be 1500 kg . on the figures the 430 is outstanding but the porsche had the grunt over 3 years ago.

Well he can like his car as much as he want, but i'd never take that ugly POS Ferrari over Porsche's masterpiece.

Same thing goes with me, dont get me wrong i love the 430 but the GT2 is something out of this world. Plus i hate the look of these new Ferraris rear.

This guy own both a GT2 and a F430 so he wont have the same problem as you guys to decide what he want to drive

The F430 has like 7 more horsepower and 129 lb. ft. less than the 2004 GT2 and both weigh almost the same. If Road and Track can get 0-60 in 3.9 for a new 997 Carrera S, just think what this thing can do in the hands of a capable driver. This owner doesn't know what he's talking about. There's one thing using your "butt dyno" to know how you feel about a car, but presenting it as fact is a mistake. Both have top speed listed as 196 mph on this site.

GT2 for me the 430 is one ugly cross eyed car.. hate it..

Lol. Of course i'd like to try it and i'm sure i'd be , but i wouldn't change my opinion about the desing, that's for sure!

The internet is slowly turning into the greatest repository of automotive BS imaginable. Please, members of this forum, take these personal comparisons and "road tests" with a pinch of salt. In fact, you'd be best to ignore them because they amount to nothing less than rumour which serves no-one and holds no value.

If you really need the low-down on which car performs better than another then you'll be hard pressed to ever have all the facts 100% objectively and consistently laid out. Car testing might be an exact science, but there are many other variables that have an influence on the outcome.

So, when do we ever compare apples with apples? Hardly ever. The closest you'll get is a same day, same time back to back thorough road test using sophisticated GPS and timing equipment. And even then it's not ultimately perfect.

So, something like that Autobild(??) shoot-out between the 130i and the R32 is about as accurate as one could get in my opinion.

Have any of you ever been present when a road publication tests cars? I have and you'd be horrified how much mechanical abuse the cars take in order to achieve the maximum performance figures - especially manuals... Now, how many of us drive like that even once in a while let alone at all?
