Notice that new police cars are all silver underneath with applied green police decals that can easily be removed when they want to sell the car. And that's what happens when these cars are eventually put on the used car market. You can come to Germany and buy a silver BMW 3-Series which used to be a police cruiser.

Nope. The police only hook up their equipment to the cigarette lighting machine I believe. The car is basically bought by the police in civilian form and just receives some police decals and a siren. Stuff that can easily be removed.

Trust me. I saw a documentary on this a long time ago. The police orders their cars from BMW, Mercedes, Audi etc. and the manufacturer will apply the police decals on the ordered cars which were delivered to them by the supplier.

That 3er police car in your photo was prepared by BMW and is now being transported to its destination.

Guess I misunderstood you then. So we agree that BMW does these applications and not the police.
