It might have sharper reactions and lighter body and it would propably be the king of compact car segment but I doubt everything said about the engine. | |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Today's official press release by BMW (about Tokyo highlights) says nothing about any concept. Neither about X6 ActiveHybrid. But ... Since they've already confirmed X6 ActiveHybrid Tokyo appearence (in a previous PR) I assume a special PR on Tokyo BMW Concept highlights may be issued in the next days. |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" I really really hope we get some special M version off the einser. After seeing some movies from the 135i on track i am not convinced. On track you can see the weight the car carries. And it isn t pushed hard already. I buy a smaller bmw because its nimbler carries less weight but i loose cabin space for it. No problem if i get a car that brings very good handling. But if i buy a smaller car loose cabin space and i still have a heavy car why buy a 1 series coupe then. 335i is only 40kg heavier. At 1350kg i would buy a 135i. Not at almost 1600kg. |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...topanel..1 .* Sorry AdEvo but Edmund's Inside Line does not agree after driving the car Quote " Search if you will, but you can take it from us; there is simply no more accomplished car for $30,000 than the 2009 BMW 135i." and this one "The 2009 BMW 135i cuts right to the heart of what a BMW is meant to be about. You can argue about its appearance and complain about packaging, but in just about every other respect, it delivers a unique and exhilarating driving experience, which is what matters most." |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" nice journalists talk. That s a guy talking who drives a 150hp fwd car on a daily basis from home to work. Yes of course he finds a 135i fantastic. I have driven a lot of cars with horse power. And horse power is the first thing you get used too. A light weight good handling car brings the smile a lot longer on youre face believe me. I am fed up with the horse power wars between the manufactures. Let bmw build a 3 doors hatch m version that would be perfect. I have a 130i myself now. It s almost perfect like i have it now. It s just so easy for bmw to make something special from it by M. A little wider wheel arches. New M front and rear bumper. Carbon roof. Csl style seats Limited slipp diff. 3.0 alu mag engine 265hp you can easy get 310hp from with some throttle bodies and a nice air intake. In a race class they have already 340hp from it. light wheels. Lighter engine hood. 130i is 1350kg now. If they could manage 1300 or lighter i would just be perfect. then you have a winner. |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Ferrari F430 Scuderia weigh 1350 kg, thats impossible weight number for 135i, afterall 135i isnt meant for the track like the Scuderia. 1500kg, M version of 1er that I would like to see, below that is impossible unless its a CSL.

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Yes that would be perfect 135i coupe 306 hp turbo or a hatch 310hp atmo M version. |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Found at 1addicts.com! ![]() Based on the new BMW 1 Series Coupé being presented to the world public for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show 2007, this fascinating design study is the consistent evolution of BMW’s compact two-door with a clear focus on uncompromising sportiness. With its aerodynamically optimised body, a wide range of lightweight features serving to minimise the weight of the car and its axle load distribution, as well as an interior tailored specifically to the ambitious driver, this concept study clearly offers a high level of driving dynamics right from the start. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1935

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" well my eyes fooled me a bit on this one but now the marketing strategy is a lot clearer the M1 name is forever engraved and bolted to BMW's only (and hopefully not last) supercar and thus cannot suit a small car even if point for point this "M1" will outmatch the older one instead the focus is on drawing close paralells to the 2002 by reviving and enhacing the demonic sounding tii badge that made its halmark in the 2002 turbo of daddy's days which makes sense to offer a non M tweaked turbo version of the current turbo 6 as a tii and keep development costs down, instead of having to develop a new atmo staright 6, given that the new Z4 will surely get the M3 V8 essentially capping the M family between the 3 and 6 variants |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Wow, the Tii badge is such a good idea... A 135 tii is a better idea than a M1 or 135 iM... Reminds of the 2002 tii... Too bad the 1er Coupe manages to look worse than the 1er 3/5 doors..., with a front that does not go with the rear... But it could be an ultimate BMW!!! |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Let s just hope an mechanical limited slip diff is there. Wil the engine be a 4cil turbo or a 6 turbo. For the weight a 4cil turbo would be even better. very very nice car. If the weight is much lower than the 135i and has an lsd off factory i am sold now lets hope the price is not to high. |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" yup, they definitely hit it the head with the name. I am not sold on the paint job - but hopefully that is just a concept thing. Love the fact that they are using CF hood. Now we need some numbers. |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Welcome to "1ntensified Performance Orientation" The Concept is appropriate for Tokyo because the meaning is like a Suduko or Karakuru puzzle . A real brainteaser what do you think of when you see this car? What letter do you have in your head when you see this car ? what is the missing letter? The 135i tii is just the beginning of two more performance 1er Coupe models. that will cater for all tastes. We will be having a pre Tokyo show event with the standard 1er Coupe models , This concept and the 1er cabrio tonight. although the Cabrio will remain hidden until the NAIS in January. |

| Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Scott does that means we get an M version of the one. Or will it stay tii. Will M go turbo on this one. Or do we get newly developed straight six. 2002tii was a 4 cil turbo. 300hp 4 cil turbo would not be bad route either. |
