AMuS compares S 500, LS 460, 750i, and guess what??

If AMuS already choose the S-Class over the 7er, then yes I agree, that's a little strange.

Honestly though, the S-Class has already won tons of comparsions - so it's not like it's going to lose credibility.

Call the LS a Toyota all you want, but a "face lifted" Toyota? Sorry don't see it.

Anyone see the new LS600h commercial? Gave me a new found respect for the car, damn that Lexus guy who talks during the commercial! :D
The new LS is definitely a contender this generation all it really needs now is a few more engine options like a good diesel. The Merc is still the best though IMO.

I remember AMuS once compared the S350 vs 730i vs A8 3.2 V6 and they preferred the S instead of the other two.

I think it was AMuS...I could be wrong, though. I remember there was even a video on the Youtube.

LS is not a facelifted Toyota no doubt.

Aren't they all based on their japanese equivalents?

E.g.
Lexus SC = Toyota Soarer
Lexus IS = Toyota Altezza
Lexus RX = Toyota Harrier
Lexus GS = Toyota Aristo

Not sure what current LS is based on though...

Ok, i'd like to correct myself, i wasn't able to find any other S vs. 7 test on AMuS site but this, where S class (S350 here) looses again.

Vergleichstest: Vergleichstest Audi A8, BMW 730i und Mercedes S 3 - auto motor und sport

May be i confused it with other magazine, or it was v12 versions?.. I was absolutely sure that i read it in AMuS...

It seems like AMuS mostly prefers BMW for some reason.

Looks to me like the S won that comparison, it scored the most points...

Actually, come to look at it, the S-class wins the first test also. Perhaps the cars are just ordered by which was tested first?

Yeah, looks like you're right. Imo that is really weird way of putting them in such confusing order.

Seems like this thread is much ado about nothing...:sleep1zh: AMuS has a long history of MB bias (just ask cawimmer or Just_me who has been researching the test results) so don't be afraid, MB will still win the most tests by a large margin. :D

toyota century?

Mercedes loose!

Vergleichstest: S 500, LS 460, 750i: Auf höchster Schwebene - auto motor und sport

How can that be? I remember that Auto Motor und Sport already tested BMW and Mercedes, and S class won. How can exactly same cars now change? And how can they now prefer facelifted Toyota to Mercedes??

Hi!! Here are the scans http://www.germancarforum.com/internal-combustion/11586-scans-ams-s-550-vs-750i-vs-ls-460-a.html !
I can't believe that they changed the test result - I think it's a mistake... :t-hands:

they done mistakes with their webpage before. so yes I vote for a mistake. Check the points and you notice its in wrong order.

Thanks Ree, sorry for my repost.
Did you guys notice that they even confused their results? In reality it is a Mercedes who accelerates faster and breaks better, on their site it seems to be BMW. How can they be so inaccurate??

You mean brakes better, right?;)

This what AMS readers prefer. When I clicked the link, I saw that the S-Class placed last, and in the scans, 1st place. HUH???

Thanks for the scans REE. :t-cheers:

And yeah, AMS is generally very MB biased - because they're in Stuttgart!

So, more points means lower position.

Or the positions are wrong. Because S500 has highest scores, and 750i the lowest ones. :t-hands:
