CHICAGO, IL -- Which cars will be turning heads on the street this year? According to Playboy's "2008 Cars of the Year," a high-performance hybrid surges past competitors, a European import squeezes to the top, and a luxury carmaker provides one of the most fuel efficient and affordable vehicles on the road.

The selected cars were chosen by an expert team of automotive writers who traveled the world and test drove every new model hitting the showroom floor this year. The vehicles were taken on the sharpest turns, most challenging curves, and the steepest hills to properly separate the superlative from the mediocre. The vehicles featured in Playboy's January issue (on newsstands and at Playboy Digital - Customer Care Friday, December 7) include:

The R8 is sweeping the competition.

I had to use google in order to see how the Buick Enclave is like:



Buicks are not sold in Europe so that firm is completely unknown to me. It's not a bad crossover BTW but i have seen better like the Inifiniti EX.

^^God ...that Buick pretty much destroys the, already shaky, credibility of this list.

That as well as voting the Cadillac CTS as the sports sedan of the year. I guess too much of the Vigra does affect their ability to judge.

^^Not to mention that every one of these brands is likely to have an advertising account with Playboy magazine.

Playboy's best cars eh... Wonder if they even testdrove any of them.

Not happy with this crap,the R8 shouldn't be mentioned by a cheap thingy like playboy,they hould've choosen a mustang,vette or a viper for that.

^^The Caddy looks great in that picture.

But it's the Maserati which wins the beauty contest.
