Mind that Q7 needs attention ... It's a new SAV in a flood of SAVs ... With V12 500HP / 1000Nm diesel engine it will definitely get a huge attention (especially if sold in US as well)... Good for Q7 & Audi image ... Nice move, Audi.

Now I'm eager to see what BMW will do ...

The problem is that they are putting their bets on X6 now - so X6 M will get the V10 S85 petrol M engine.

While X5 is going to get "iS" version only - with upcoming V8 bi-turbo.

But both models will get a new V10 diesel.

Anyway ... kuddos to Audi / VAG for showing us again who is a diesel master.


But do not forget the competition is not far behind ...

Not out of nowhere. Audi was said to be preparing a V12 engine for Audi R8. It's just that noone expected Q7 to be the first to use it.

Price? 100k Euros?

^i say to hell with handling..even the Porsche turbo doesent do that well..ive driven it..its all wobbly..

It will be mad heavy and it is dead huge too which is why the car isn't that thrilling to me. Despite the power it does 0-100km/h in 5.5 seconds. It is almost the size of an R-class which makes the power useless. Additionally it has the same led lights as the face lifted Cayenne TT.

It's the most powerful diesel in the world and the second more powerful engine in general when we consider the torque figures.

It shares the second place with MB S/CL/SL 65 AMG, Maybach 57S. Bugatti Veyron wins with 1250 Nm.

Subaru Impreza WRX ST1 has the best Nm/l figure in compressed engines: 210 Nm/l. The best compressed diesel is Opel Antara 1.9 CDTI 156 kW: 209 Nml/l.

whAT A great achievement. 500 hp out of a diesel-i guess they do get some R&D out of racing. It looks superb as well.

I would have thought a Evo 9 360 would beat a subaru impreza wrx STI easily.

I really hope they will not conceive such a diesel monster.

I know V10 diesel is in development - but have no info about specs. But it will sure be more powerful than 4.4L V8. I expect output around 400HP / 850Nm.

I'm more interested in petrol engines: NGV8 range & NG V12 range.

400 Hp is more than enough, i really don't understand who will buy this engine instead of a petrol one with same level of power.

People who are concerned about fuel economy and the environment, kinda!

Also people who want to tow large things such as boats!

Guys, remember that this is also the most powerful Audi ever built

RS6+ was the former "record holder" with 480hp.

Someone who will pay 100k $ or € for a car, and then save at fuel costs.

Man, I never thought about that, the most powerful Audi ever is a diesel, a scary thought!

BTW, how long till this engine finds it way into the Audi A8, when it does it will be more powerful than the S8!!!

Just like most powerful Lexus is a hybrid, and sometimes in the future the most powerful BMW ever will be a hydrogen powered.

Just to compare the normal Q7, to the Q7 V12 TDI.
















To me, it's like night and day...

For me to..i hate the ordinary Q7 and love the V12

Both are ugly but the V12 is vulgaire.

The V12 looks more modern and agressive but the old is more beauiful. But I'm sure the V12 will be better looking irl. Love them both either way.
