| New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll Which one would you guys choose and why??? Here's my spin on things: -Audi - Great quality, design(a tad mute, especially compared to the others) and engineering. Not so sure about dynamics. -BMW - All time fav; Great dynamics and design, but a tad rusty next to the latest from the competitoin. Long term dependability and durability is questionable. -Merc - Return to greatness in overall quality. Nice design and great interior build quality, edges the 3er for driving dynamics. Transmission could use paddle shifters and enthusiasts could use the AMG sport buckets- here's hoping we get those options for '09(U.S.). Last edited by Deutsch; 09-12-2007 at 01:01 AM. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll I'd go with a C350 right now, though it isn't an easy choice. The 335i is a sportier car with all important power advantage, but I'm not crazy about the look both inside and out and since we're not talking coupes here, the 3 is out. The new A4 is just plain boring. Audi has been on a roll as of late with the S8, S5, R8 and now RS6, but this new A4 is just a been there done that design. There is literally nothing new about this car other than it replaces the old one. The C-Class quite frankly is just half-baked. We don't get some of the key luxury car features that other markets enjoy and the engines should have been upgraded this year, not next. Anyway, C-Class by a hair. M

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll I was actually just about to make a topic about which of these cars is the best, as Im looking at them now. Technically, wouldnt the BMW be the best? 300 HP and 300 torque beats the others. I test drove the A4 today, and it was brilliant. Havent hit the 335 yet tho... so maybe its even better? ![]() |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll I'm just going to vote by the look and not how the car goes or handles becuase here E90 is the winner in my book, (with that said I have only driven E90 and C-class so I dont know anything about the new A4). - E90 is getting a facelift soon so its out of question. - I havent seen the new A4 IRL or driven the car yet so its also out of question. - My vote goes to C350 with Avantgarde trim and AMG kit. If the 335i turbo engine existed then the C-class would be perfect.

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll C class.. is there really another choice.. The Bmw is a great car.. but its in a desperate need for a FL.. so to buy that one today would be foolish imo.. The Audi.. well it got its FL.. ohh hold on.. it was not a FL.. its a new modell well you get my point

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll The voting scale does not surpsise me. The more you look at the B8 A4 you realize just how truly safe the Audi designers played it with the "new" design, it's not unattractive, it's quite good looking. It's just not exciting, it's boring. The C-klasse needs AMG sports seats to put the seal on the deal. Right now when you take the W204(U.S. spec) at speed around a corner you kind of slide in the seat a bit, something that never happens in a 3er ZSP thanks to it's deeper side bolstering on the sport seats. This also heightens the driving experience in the sensation of driving "on rails". The 3er? Needs a facelift, hopefully they'll work out those funky but cool rear lights. I still like the 3er very much, other than the above stated and the fact that eveyrone and their Mom has one. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll I think the best looking out of the 3 currently is the C-class with the AMG pack. That's one great looking car, although I don't really like the interior that much. Plus it has a really aggressive price, which is a great thing to see especially since it's a Benz. Having said that, I will still take the 3er (although the FL is coming soon). Best engine in its class and it's simple to tune it to make more power Best handling as far as I know, although the Benz is close. And imo, it can still look good with a few touches here and there... such as the OEM spoiler, CSL wheels. Crazy to think this car has been out since 2004. Inside info though, FL should make it look fresher ![]() |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll I voted C-Class, because this car appeals to me much more than the other two. Never liked the 3-Series, and the A4 has not changed enough, looks dated and even boring in my eyes. The C-Class is just a car that corresponds perfectly to Mercedes and to all what appeals to me in that brand, I love that car. These are really 3 excellent cars, each really expressing their brands' philosophy, really different from one other, each a strong personnality. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll The new A4 does it for me. With its design, equipment, and for that price, it's just my cup of tea. I also think it will beat both the C and 3 in handling, and defenitely in the interior. Audi has got a winner here!! With the A4 looking this good as standard, just imagine the S4 and RS4....! ![]()

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll C-classfor me. Easy choice. It has the best designed exterior. Elegant but intriguing and aggressive at the same time. Further more the car drives very well. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll This A4 has got 18" wheels at least here, not what I would call standard... Concerning the handling, it will globally be the A5, with surely less sporty and more comfortable adjustments... So far from beating C-Klasse and 3-Series... T he C-Class is much more comfortable and handles as good, and better in the lower versions where A4 comes as FWD, whereas the BM handles better but is less comfortable... Concerning the look, both inside and outside, it is a question personal taste. The A4 is a bit bland in my opinion. To see the S4 and RS4, just look at the B7 and change the lights and you have it.... I much prefers the C-Class. Bot inside and outside (the inside is not top on pic, much better in real, and you just feel so good when you are in this car...impressive. I've read somwhere that Mercedes calls that the "Wohnzimmer-design", so "Living-room-design"... Just exactly what I feel in this car). For me these are three different, but three excellent cars. I don't think you can say that one "eats" the others. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll The interior of the C-class is the best out of the 3 MO. Without question. Thefore that makes it the nicer place to be, so my vote goes to the W204. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll 3er by a very very wide margin. And calling a 3er rusty next to the A4 and C class makes me giggle. What makes you say that? The state of the art engines? The highly respected EfficientDynamics programme of the car? Or maybe the chassis itself??

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll I am really tempted by the new AUDI, but the 3 er still gets my vote. Its the oldest of the lot but the design still looks fresh. The C class - no way, the new grill doesn't appeal to me as being sensationally different, and the interiors I found boring and too A and B class like instead of the E or the S as I had expected. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll C-Class for me for sure!! 3er may be the bench mark car in this class but its been out for a while and I still don't like the look of it. The new A4 looks like a FL and not a new model but thats not to say it doesn't look good. However, the C, IMO, looks the best, the quality of the interior, whilst not Audi like, is still pretty darn good and it's a more sportier car than the W203 whilst it hasn't lost any of the Benz comfort. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll A4 has the better interior, BMW has the better performance and Merc better looks (but only with Avangarde trim) But performance is more important to me than looks - and the 335 has the other 2 licked in that department - so pretty easy choice for me. |

| Re: New Gen Compact Lux Sedan class poll I have to say I'm a bit surprised by the margin by which the A4 was left last in this poll. I can't fault people for voting for the C-class, given that it's a new and accomplished and all that, but what I find surprising is that the people who disliked the previous A4 for being 'old' now seem to find perfectly good excuses to vote for the oldest car of the bunch... My vote goes to the A4. I still don't like the looks of the Bimmer, and while I'd be perfectly happy with a C-Class I'd still prefer the Audi, given the choice.
