hmm I checked TInes thread. Z4M coupe will be out in june. I dont know about the roadster.

With how fast this year has gone by, June 06' will be here very very shortly, I promise. What I like about the Z4 is that it has very definitive and true roadster proportions. It's an instant classic, not only that but I like the interior a lot more than that of the SLK as well.

Thats the reason that I say: "I dont THINK so".
But if you look at the specifications, the SLK55 is more promising... I hope so...

I dont think its our business to judge the handling dynamics of either car because theres been no articles comparing the two and most of us probably have not driven either yet. BUT...based on looks alone, I would choose the Z4. I think it looks better and is definitely more masculine. The SLK is just too flamboyant and too "im so pretty" . AMG package or not, the SLK will never look better than the barbie and ken mobile it is. haha

That came directly from the last Top Gear. So if its ok for BBC world im pretty sure its ok for this forum. There has been much worse things said in earlier threads. Besides its a joke referring to Clarkson's car.

once again i couldnt care less about the frase flamboyant.. let just say im not a flamboyant fan..
But the thing i dont understand is that if a car company builds a beautiful without challenging new design like the bimmers or the new S.. how can we still call it names..
Just beacuse its good looking.. thats beyond me..haha

like i said, i didnt make that up. I personally think the SLK is a nice car, but its definitely feminine. I think the Z4 is more appealing to men than the SLK.

Hell yeh it is! The Z4 is marketed more towards men than women. I seriously can't wait for the coupe!!!!!!

Yeah the SLK is really popular amongst women, it their baby benz. The Z4 on the other hand doesn't give them the practical vario roof and the design is very really aggresive and not as cute as the SLK.

The SLK is a gurly car.. but i dont agree that it is when its AMG..its pretty damn agressive if you ask me.. and the Z4.. hmm thats a gurly car to.. in a way.. to me small roadsters are all gurly.. either you see a bald 50 year old in them.. or a woman.. or some jet set flamboyant.. hahah..
SL is the real roadster.. and its bad to the freakin bone...

If I were a mod.. ah heck, I'll say it anyway. Chill out on the flamboyant stuff, some people do take offense. You make it sound like a car that could possibly appeal to flamboyant people is somehow to be disliked.

If that's what you really think, go for it.. in private. But not on a public forum.

Its the 55 engine that pulls me too the SLK, but i would say the Z4 is no slouch.... too bad coupe wasnt involved, it would have made it harder to decide!

Now that i read the whole thread all the way thru... Its amazing how reckless it gets without supervision, you guys are just not thinking when you type i guess.

Matt... you are out of line. Please think before you comment, there may be people here that will take offense, especially SLK owners and truthfully there is no need for that, watch your words here!

Furthermore you guys know better, dont entertain the conversation and drag it out. Inform an admin and we will take care of it ASAP. BTW personally i find it really tasteless to speak of anything in that nature, and uncalled for.

I think that the MZ4 is what I would go with just because of the driving dynamics presented on the car. I love the SLK55 but it doesn't not come in manual, so I will go with the M roadster.

In my defence I was merely quoting from one of the new Top Gear episodes. I also stated I was merely being facetious. Ill try not to offend any one else. I have no problem with the car personally but I thought it was a funny comment on that show. And if I wasn't being PC enough for this forum I apologize but again it was directly from Top Gear.

I'm sorry, but how is the 55 engine better than the most awarded engine in automotive history ?!

Probably lighter while making more power, not to mention it is a shorter block and naturally has a lower CG.
Plus it roars instead of wimpers. j/k
