We sure do because as it stands I'm not really feeling that design at all.

Re: Porsche Panamera Thread III (Spy pics & info)

The back end - exactly as per my expectations countless months ago - is truly awful.

This car's bum is a big, fat, amorphous blob. There's something wrong with the roofline aft of the D-pillar as it takes a subtle but incongrous dive toward the rear-end. The reason is obvious enough; the trade-off between rear accomodation and headroom vs. the ultimate length of the vehicle is the nett result. Nevertheless, the Panamera ends up with a back-end that is neither coupe-like nor shooting brake. It's nothing short of what it was always expected to be: ugly.

A fastback, 5 door Porsche: soon to be touted by its maker as a paragon of saloon /coupe elegance. Thanks but no thanks guys - I'll admire your brand through other models.

No doubt, dynamically it'll set the benchmark with superb front to rear weight distribution courtesy of an engine mounted well aft of the front axle. But my question is, how many owners will truly appreciate the subtle benefits of this in on the limit driving compared with, say, an Audi S8?

Right on Martin. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Why can't they just build the 989, it still looks good even after all these years.

Re: Porsche Panamera Thread III (Spy pics & info)

Does seem to be an official image. But I'll wait for better ones since it's a very poor image making the car look squashed rather than long and wide like in some of the spyshots. Rims definitely looks too small, the car needs at least 19s Other than that I'm very upbeat about Porsche launching the Turbo version right away. Performance figures for it should be very interesting.

Re: Porsche Panamera Thread III (Spy pics & info)

I am beginning to understand the purpose for this car and that is to be a 911 for four that is why it features 911 esque rear end .
While the front of the car is pure progressive Porsche the back seems much of a missed opportunity perhaps a sedan like rear end could really make the car stand out or a much lower roof line as the initial "teaser" sketches showed or perhaps a rear deck ?

Perhaps seeing the car in real life could offer a more official opinion , but I have no doubt the engineering , development and testing phase of the Panamera will make it a very serious contender in the luxury performance segment and sales should be promising soon after all it's an entirely new Concept and people like to have the latest luxury items.

Could the Panamera become known as the "only" competition to the BMW Progressive Activity Sedan , even in Twin-Turbo V8 Specification?
I have no doubt the media will make these comparisons genuine or not ? But some publications think the Ford S-Max (good concept that it is) Will be a PAS rival as well .
