Nothing is known about the Zonda successor. Its project's codename is C9: the only thing is about a very strange looking Zonda, with some huge rear air intakes, and a wider front grille. Spotted in South Africa, then in the USA, initially referred as the Zonda R protoype.

According to EVO, this new Pagani supercar will feature a new engine, the M275 AMG twin turbo V12, and a brand new sequential gearbox, made by ZF.

The 6.0-liter, 700-horsepower twin-turbo V12 will need to breathe a little more deeply, which explains the updated front clip and gaping intakes behind the cabin. Otherwise – and unless he's playing a brilliant game of hide-and-seek – all but a few of those 3,770 new parts must be underneath that familiar shape. The supercar estimated to run €900,000 should be shown in final form sometime this year.

As for the car in the Auto Express spy pics, I'm quite certain that Pagani is doing a good job in hiding an all new car under some cleverly misleading bodywork. The new car ought to look a great deal different to the original Zonda I reckon...

I think the Zonda mule could be a bench for the engine,tranny..electronics..and such..

While the other one is the real car..
But there is only 1 new pagani coming (testing) at the moment..and thats the C9

Hi gang...

Here's the next generation Zonda prototype as caught in the Sabie, Mpumalanga area in South Africa. What's interesting is that the cars are being tested alongside SLS AMGs. I don't know why or what's underneath the engine covers of either car. It's just odd to me that the SLS AMG would still be in an FEP hot 'n high test cycle after its official launch and in the company of the Zonda.

I think those SLS´s are Black series.. or maybe bench for the new AMG V8´s..
And pagani has tested the C9 alongside MB cars since the start..
pagani seems to have great connections over at MB..as being part of their testing is a real TREAT..

Im almost certain that MB will try to buy pagani some day..
MB are evil at heart..they dont help for nothing

Yeah, the hood with those scoops and that pointy nose shares resemblance with both the F50 (<--which I detest) and the Enzo.
