Im pretty sure it will.. rumors say a 500hp twin turbo V6..
And you know if its 500hp stock in a GT-R lord know how much you can push it to..
It will have the new Nissan AWD system wich is extremely good..
Ohh and suspension and such are made by LOTUS..
So it will kick ass for sure.. no doubt..

Porsche Guy will become famous soon enough
Re: Skyline Gt-r

Its a good looking car, i just hope that this concept is true to the production model and the carbon fiber bits make it to production.

Here is a pretty crappy video.. but the CEO says that its 80-90 % final design.. and im very happy with that.. i think the CF will make it to production.. but maybe a little bit less CF.. but the again the release date is 2007 all around the world.. and by then.. maybe CF is more usuall than today..

Re: Skyline Gt-r

This car is SICK! I never thought I would be saying that about any new Japenese car, but man, I luvvvvvvvv this!!! It looks 350Z and very Skyline-ish at the same time, and that's more than cool w/ me. Hopefully this car will be prices reasonably? I'm sure there will be a ton of cool mods that can be made to keep this car biting on the rear ends of 911's, the Skyline has always been the buisness w/ sportscars! Good job Nissan, you've gained a new fan!

Re: Skyline Gt-r

MAn i allready made up my mind.. im gonna get myself one of these.. it will be approx 70K USD.. wich isnt that much concidering that it might have somewhere near 500hp..
The previous one had around 280hp stock.. and the maximum they tuned it to is around 1300hp or more.. and you could easily get like 400hp just buy increasing the boost on the turbos.. now im thinking 500--- boost increase-- close to 700hp-- lotus tuned chassi and suspension---brembo brakes---Atessa AWD--
That sounds like one hell of a package..

I'm weeping... with joy. Godzilla is back and it's looking better than ever. This is, in my eyes, what every STI or EVO owner views as the next level.

Please, one day when I'm big.
I wish Top Secret was here, I don't feel like posting on CSS now that this place is running so sweetly but I would love his opinion.

Re: Skyline Gt-r

Hmm wow, not bad. I'm not as thrilled to bits as some of you though. Some details seem a little odd to me.

I don't like the wedginess of the rear three-quarter section, even though viewed straight on from the side it's actually quite 'straight'. Mostly though I dislike the way the rear of the window slopes down so much. I was hoping it would be more sedan-like in the way the R34 Skyline 2-doors were; ie. more in the form of a classical 2-door coupe/2-door sedan.

Oh well. I doubt changing the roofline will be the 10-20% that is to be different between this concept and the production model. I guess I'll have to live with it..

Re: Skyline Gt-r

By contrast Snake, I absolutely love that visor-like appearance of the DLO that is afforded by the carbon-fibre A-pillar this combines nicely with the floating appearance of the roof. I think the slope of the roof whilst seemingly odd at first, is such a nice, sporty touch for this car compared to the conventional 3 box lines of the R34. Wedginess is this kind of car is essential in my opinion. What I'm not too convinced by is the subtle crease running through the C-plillar. Other than that - please Mr Ghosn, let it be so.

Re: Skyline Gt-r

In what way is it Ferrari + Dodge Charger? Please outline your argument and give details, including pictures. If you're going to cry copycat, please provide some support.

I know the new GTR's not based on anything else as such, design wise, but I'm still keen for the days when it was actually a real Skyline, and the legend's halo or flow-on effect could be experienced in the rest of the lineup.

I also liked the simple yet purposeful stance that the sedan-like styling afforded it. This thing is over the top, which yes, of course many seem to like.

It's not so much the carbon fibre A pillar's 'visor' effect, but the slope towards the back that strikes me as odd. I would have rathered a level top. Maybe I'll gradually warm to it, or maybe not. Call me a purist, but I still like the R34 better than this. And despite its age, the R32 has probably the most excellent shape and proportions.

C'mon IE, you have a wealth of knowledge of past and current automobiles and really, can you honestly say that the Skyline GT-R doesn't have it's own niche and original lineage? The Skyline GT-R is an original in its own right and this new GT-R follows on where the R34 left off. The GT-R is the stuff of modern automotive legend and Nissan didn't need to take any cues from anyone else.

For sure.. martinbo they dont need to take anything from other brands.. the skylines are a car that ppl take things from.. not the otherway around..

ohh and there is also a rumor for a V8. .but idont think so.. the TT v6 would be better IMO..

It's a shame that both Nissan in this car and Honda in NSX will use a V6. A V6 engine is not suitable for a supercar in any case.
