Interesting facts from the article:

750i xDrive

xDrive system in the new 7er distributes the torque in the basis rear-biased ratio 30:70 (instead of 40:60 like in other xDrive models)
the typical RWD driving feeling stays, while the xDrive contributes to better traction & handling in slippery conditions
the car will be available by the IAA Frankfurt 2009 autoshow
xDrive will be available in both SWB & LWB body variant
xDrive won't be available in the low-end petrol & diesel models though (at least not initially)

X6 xDrive50i Hybrid

X6 xDrive50i Hybrid weights 200kg more than the regular xDrive50i model
the batteries are located in the trunk double-floor
at least 15% better fuel consumption in average than the xDrive50i
very sporty driving & performance characteristics, yet still no exact info on the performance data
available in 2009 ... initially in US market, at the end of the year also in Europe

X1 xDrive30i

X1 will be available in late 2009, and will be built in Leipzig, Germany
the car is flat, not SUV-ish at all - it looks & feels much more like a 3er Touring "Allroad"
the cabin is not cramped at all, yet the roof lies much lower compared to X3
the dash was still in camo, yet the general layout is same as in 1er
the car features 3.0L I6 engine with 272HP, and a 6-speed automatic gearbox
xDrive basis torque-distribution ratio in this car is regular 40:60
the car is very agile, and drives just like 3er xDrive Touring (not a surprised since the platform is same).
the sitting position is a bit higher than in 3er Touring xDrive but much lower than in X3
the car's driving & overall characteristics are much more similar to 1er & 3er than to X3

All nice and all, but the hybrid system would be much more useful in the X5. X6 buyers aren't likely looking for mileage or of the greenie type.

I keep thinking of the A8. One upon a time the A8 had the large AWD niche all to itself, then Mercedes, then VW, then Lexus and now BMW all have joined the AWD party. Only one left out is Jaguar now.

I´m with EnI now. I like much more the night vision twin kidney grille on the new 7er, specially in black.

The X6 Hybrid looks just like the regular 50i, sans the sport package.

I can see the slight bulge on the hood, but what happened to the lights that were on the rear, like on the concept? And its wheels?
