I agree. BMW have made a questionable decision by not making the CS Concept in production form.

But by typing what you did, you are in fact saying more about yourself than anything about BMW.

The thing is. I'm not in the slightest bit offended. I'm not gay. If I was gay maybe I would be offended. But it just sounds childish. Long term joke or not.

CS Concept never looked good anyway so what's the big deal here.

CS 7 is very much on the cards with a new front , rear end and interior being designed at this moment in time.

CS 6 is very much moving forward to design freeze which should occur in the opening stages of 2010. At the studio where CS 6 is in the latter stages of design there are the current blown-up pictures of the recently spotted A7 prototype , CLS past and Present and Panamera.
When you see CS 6 you will see it is nothing like these competitors and shares nothing with the next 6er Coupe. The concept is more how the X6 is entirely related to the 6er in bloodline only.

Again BMW are clearly excited regarding this car because it again opens up a new niche (for BMW). Following the Sport Activity Coupe , and Progressive Activity Sedan (GT) enables BMW to launch a new type of model to it's portfolio.

The overall shape is very reminiscient of the Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept Car , CS 6 has already been shown to the world , well a competition model not chosen to progress when the car was spotted being loaded onto a truck.

To show how serious BMW are with the intentions of it's latest projects that former Porsche engineers are working on the CS 6 but also the Z2 Roadster and Coupe .

Ok to make it clear, you are saying that the CS7 will no longer be a carbon copy of the CS concept ? what will happen the CS concept design then ? will it be lost ? Will the CS7 be another 7 series twin ?

Firstly, since when have magazine photoshops ever been correct regarding upcoming BMW models. Secondly, I'm not sure BMW even know what is happening with this car so how does the magazine. Finally, we have just gone through the largest recession in however many decades, the automotive industry has for the lack of a better word been raped, releasing a low volume, low profit, hero car at this stage in the economy is billigerent and down right reckless. BMW continue to control their debt and with high sales has weathered this storm, the same cannot be said for other car manufactures...

umm. I dont think you still have got the message.

The R8 and SLS were products of the good times cars that were initiated and developed when times were good and the economy was in perfect health. If these were projects to be green-lighted now they would not be.
Dont forget the first time we saw the R8 was in 2003 as the Le Mans Quattro so the design was frozen about six months after that concept. 5er GT was underway since 2005 so it was too late to pull the plug .

BMW were simply too late , as BMW made the decision when the ceiling was about to give way. A majority of engineering work has already been done for the CS. as it shared an adapted platform with the world's current best selling luxury sedan the 7er.
It's on the to do list whilst BMW focuses on it's coming compact models , cars that will make an impact.

^ Does it matter when they were developed? I mean, the R8 and SLS are on sale now, and people love them. No ceiling for high end cars gave way. It's the regular cars that are suffering.
And compact cars will make an impact on sales, but high end cars impact brand perception.

You could be quite right there. Considering every high end new car has been pretty much sold out already, and people actually buy the freak of nature that is Panamera....

^Um rumours about upcoming MB sportscars are pretty strong..

I dont think they will stop at the SLS..

Neither will audi at the R8..

These cars have done to much for the brands...
BMW dont know..they havent tasted that sweetness yet...

That was released during the GFC, so clearly all the prior work had been done 4-5 years before hand... Cancelling at that stage would see no return in investiment and BMW lose a substantial amount of profit.

Too bad, since trhe CS had such a wonderfully balanced, sporty and yet elegant design.... I hope BMW will come up with an equally winning design

The CS 7 is not going to be the CS Concept?

After all this time, making something with such allure and beauty and ferocity and...such presence...

I have to ponder--

Why the heck would I still be a BMW fan if they chose to completely act like that never even existed?

This is THE car we've been waiting for, and they're going to dismantle it and puts bits and pieces on other models?

I don't want to see or buy "an ode to the CS", I want "THE CS"!

For now, there are other models that are my saving grace, but how long does that really last, with all the temptation out there with the emergence of the super sedan...really--

The front and rear looked more than fine to me. I've lost my enthusiasm for this car.
