A turnabout happened ...

BMW & Yokohama reached a consent agreement ... Yokohama no longer opposes sDrive & eDrive trademark registrations by BMW.

Final registration is expected in the next days.

I am suspecting that might be TT 4.8 litre V8 in the X5, 550i, 650i, 750i.
The 4.4 litre V8 has taken the 50i designation.

55 moinker sounds weird, it's too clod to 760 in 7 series guise, and since it is also in the 5 and 6 it's not the new V12
it's probably the new nomeclature for when the 4.4 gets a power jump in phase 2

^ No, that's the V8 hybrid, like the 7er ActiveHybrid (gasoline) I guess you could call it a new engine but it's really the new V8 TT with electric engine.

I talked to a 550i owner like a month ago and the funny part is that his dealer told him that next generation 550i is going to be renamed to 555i.
And I talked to this guy before Eni posted this new trademarks.

Maybe his dealer is on something here.

I am sure the 555 will be TT V8. It better have xDrive.

^ Maybe an upgraded version of that engine, because I think that, like the F01 7er, the 550i will be the 414 bhp 4.4 V8 TT.
Otherwise the 750i would have to be 755i (but you never know these days).....

EfficientDynamics symbol has been filed for official registration ... although BMW have been using it already for marketing purposes.

Yestwrday the sDrive trademark was finally registered in US as well ...

After Yokohama also gave BMW permission to register eDrive trademark, I expect this one will be registered in the next weeks as well.

Btw, another mysterious trademark has been filed for registration by BMW AG ... it's called CLIFTON ... I have absolutely no idea what that is. It's slotted in the class 012 (Automobiles).
