How many CS prototypes are in existence?

It was a presentation for the employees of the design sudio, moderated by Bangle and van Hooydonk. They talked about the design and the features of the car, then we were allowed to get to the car and take a closer look at it.
since that moment I've been loving this car more than ever. And every negative thought I had when i saw the pictures for the first time were blown away! The car looked perfect IRL.

That's what i wanted to hear, is it really as long as it seems to be ? What do you think of the interior ?

The car was huge. Extremely long, extremely wide and extremely low, what do you need more to make a car look hot? nothing!

The interior was very nice, unfortunately we were'nt allowed to sit in it (undestandable with the amoun of people surrounding the car!) but they made a very qualitative impression on me. and the woven metal that was replacing wood did look very classy and elegant.

Partially clumsy driver at Dubai Auto Show accidentally backed a CS into an ugly 612. Not much happened except that the bimmer got minor scratches of white paint on the bumper.

The brake light looks venomous. I must as I'm a MB fanatic and don't want to like this car, I can't resist it.

I would love to say that I would expect MB to match it with something equally amazing ......but I honestly am not convinced they have quite the same clarity of vision for the future of Mercedes as BMW has for their products.

BMW seems to be much more confident about what it is all about right now ......but that could change in time.

There are a few years left until this car will stand on show room floors, and when it makes it debut there will be other cars like the second generation CLS, Rapide and Audi A7.

This might turn out to be the best looking one if BMW doesn't tone down on the flame surfacing which is what makes the car look so striking.

Let me point out that this prototype the "Concept CS" costs a lot more than the Ferrari and Munich are not going to be overly ecstatic over the minor damage on their prototype. The paint itself is several hundred thousand euros alone. And that someone within BMW middle east division will have some explaining to do. This is not something that can be remedied with a touch up stick.

The Individual team most likely has a can of paint left to spare for incidents like these, so they can just repaint the bumper. Or conceal the scratches with a Kermit sticker.

I thought you hated the car? The kidney grills at least. I remember there weren't that many people who liked the car at all when the pictures came out

i have been thinking for a single word to describe this car and i couldn't
i have finally settled on an arabic word (my mother tongue) that captures most closely what the CS is, now i can rightfully say the CS is GHADAB (غضب), which in translation means massive anger, with subtle inuendo of power, poise, statement, all wrapped up in a package of positive nuance (could be negative depends on context).
try to convey this much meaning in a single neglish word!

nah i just like it..
on the other hand.. BMW will most likely **** it up proper before production..
so i guess your right in a way

Nah, Artist was one of the few who liked the car from the very beginning. I personally didn't like it much at first. It has grown in me though. It looks stunning in many shots but still there are few details that I'm not 100 % sure I like. I wish I could see it IRL soon!

Having recently had the pleasure of the Concept CS and the X6 Concepts for a little promo upcoming for BMW Web-TV , I seen first hand how these cars are delivered. For example the CS when in transportation has it's alloys removed and replaced by standard 7er alloys , The wing mirrors are removed and the car is placed in a protective foam based Zip off cover. each wheel which I must point out are expensive are placed in four individual crates.
A specially crafted cardboard interior protects the inside of the car.
The X6 concepts are similar , But the Active Hybrid model is disconnected before transportation.

Compare this to my next project the MINI Cabrio and things are a lot different , Although location shooting does not happen until the new year .
There has been "Green Screen" footage shot to insert the visuals later. I got the idea from watching "Speed Racer" cartoons. (Go MINI Go!....)
As this is a MINI expect color , imagery and culture and oh yes the bass will be pumping.

^^Speaking of SpeedRacer, Scott, have you seen the new trailer for the SpeedRacer movie? I hope you see that before you guys go ahead with your mini campaign otherwise it would be awkward to have the mini advert and SpeedRacer movie looking the same. Of course, it will be you guys who get called out for copying.

Looks like a pyschadelic trip with some creative elements and touches there.
Sorry ours is not migraine inducing as I said it is influenced by the cartoon in terms of visuals not per say a direct carbon copy. I would say some of my creative choices would be old cartoons such as "Speed Racer" and I love Japanese Anime Manga. The MINI Cabrio Very similar to the Clubman but always MINI. Hopefully you saw how visual that was...
But anyway you will see so in under two months time.
