| Audi 2008 Internal Product Launch Document Leaked ![]() ![]() An anonymous source has sent us this alleged internal Audi document sent to dealerships listing all of the new product launches in Germany for 2008. Notable entries which have yet to be revealed include A4 Avant for spring 2008 and the Q5 and Q7 V12 TDI in the end of the third quarter. Also, the Audi TT-S is listed for second quarter 2008 but what is surprising is the 198kW (269hp) power rating. Using the same 195 kW (265hp) 2.0-liter TFSI engine found in the Audi S3, previous spy reports pegged the TT-S with a increase over the S3 to 280hp, so this marginal power increase is somewhat disappointing. In a separate occasion, the same source has provided us with another alleged official diagram of the future inline 5-cylinder 2.5-liter TSI engine producing 256 kW (350 hp). Although we have our doubts about it's authenticity due to the design signature and strange Haettenschweiler italics font, it looks exactly the same as the diagram used for the VW four cylinder TSI version with just one cylinder added to the intake and exhaust manifolds. This engine, which is currently found on the North American Jetta in naturally aspirated form will serve as the basis for the upcoming Audi TT-RS which is likely to be called simply, TT-R. Sources at Ingolstadt state Audi was surprised with the success of the new TT and therefore decided to complete the model range with S and RS versions. Decide for yourself whether it's real or just another edited image. Source - WCF: Audi 2008 Internal Product Launch Document Leaked ![]()

| Audi car schedule until 2012 Includes R4 Quattro Quarterly, sponsored but not run by Audi, has published an extensive list of what Audi's roll out schedule might be. Autoblog was first on its trail and posted the attached scan of the list. Audi really does seem to keep its word in regards to the amount of models they will have on offer. A year by year lay-down of what to expect. 2008 Not big news here, so a quick recap. A3 Cabrio, A4 Avant, A3 facelift and Q5 will be making their way to dealers. In the second half of the year we should be welcoming the Audi TT-S, R8 with V10 engine and the Q7 Hybrid. 2009 Slowly the list is becoming more interesting. 2009 kicks off with the Audi A5 Cabrio, followed by the top-of-the-line Audi RS5 (Detroit debut?) and R8 Targa (Geneva debut?). Later in the year we can now expect the Audi A7 Coupe, the Q3 small SUV, a higher spec TT-RS and A5 Sportback. The WCF news crew can't wait to see the A5 Sportback, it may just become our favourite. The year ends with the introduction of the brand-new Audi A1, which has shown its face as the Metroproject Quattro in Tokyo. 2010 Audi will take the foot off the gas in 2010 with only three new models. But it will definitely be quality over quantity with the revealing of the new Audi A8 and Q5 Hybrid, followed later in the year by the new Audi A3. 2011 Life will be good in 2011, and we expect Audi sales to really go through the roof with the introduction of a brand new Audi A6 and A6 Avant with the A1 Cabrio set for release late in the year. But the real news for 2011 is the coming of the Audi A7 Cabrio and sporty R4, is it safe to say the TT successor? Whatever it will be, it will be hot and should sell like hot-cakes! 2012 Maybe a little too far in the future to really lay down concrete plans for, but Audi has an A4 facelift in the planning. The list in short (check the attached image for production sites): * September 2007 - B8 A4 * September 2007 - C6 RS6 * January 2008 - A3 Cabrio * March 2008 - B8 A4 Avant * June 2008 - A3 Facelift * July 2008 - Q5 * August 2008 - TT-S * September 2008 - R8 V10 * December 2008 - Q7 Hybrid * January 2009 - A5 Cabrio * February 2009 - RS5 * March 2009 - R8 Targa * June 2009 - A7 Coupe * July 2009 - Q3 * August 2009 - TT-RS * September 2009 - A5 Sportback * December 2009 - A1 * February 2010 - Q5 Hybrid * June 2010 - New D4 A8 * October 2010 - New A3 * January 2001 - A7 Cabrio * January 2011 - New C7 A6 * May 2011 - C7 A6 Avant * June 2011 - R4 * October 2011 - A1 Cabrio * January 2012 - A4 Facelift |

| Auto Motor und Sport did an interview with Audi chief development engineer Michael Dick. He gave Auto Motor und Sport the correct model release date from today till Feb. 2012 2008 April - A3 cabriolet May - A4 Avant - RS6 Avant June - A3 (face lift) - new 2.0l Common Rail engine July - TT S September - Q5, A6 face lift, Q7 V12 TDI October - RS6 sedan November - TT TDI December - S4 sedan and Avant 2009 January - Q7 full hybrid February - A5 convertible March - R8 V10 April - A8 May - R8 Roadster June - TT RS July - RS5 October - A5 Sportback 2010 Jan - Q3 Feb - A1 (2door) March - A7 May - RS4 October - A3 December - A1 (4door) 2011 January - A6 Feb - A7 convertible March - city (still a ? behind based on the VW up concept) April - Q5 full hybrid October - A1 Roadster November - A6 Avant December - R8 V12 TDI 2012 Jan - A6 Allroad Feb - A4 facelift Some technical specs that he gave.. - TT RS 350hp from a 5cyl - Q5 SUV is based on the A4 quattro not on the VW Tiguan and shares nothing with the Tiguan - New A6 use a all aluminum chassie and nearly all aluminium suspension to reduce the car weight in average by 100kg compared to competetive models of other brands - 2008 Audi market the cleanest running diesel engine in the world - the A1 will be available as full electirc car with plug in technology - The 2008 Q5 is the first DSG equipped car with longitudinal mounted engine in Audis modle range - possible that Audi starts production in the USA - Audi slowly goes away from all models looking the same with a single frame front image... beginning with the Q models receiving more marked vertical struts in the grill. The sports models will receive flatter and wider single frame grills. But according to design chief Stefan Sielaff this will be a slow process.

| Re: Updated Audi schedule some key high volume modles like the Q3 should be given precedent over some more arguably pointless models the small cars A1 and city or whatever should arguably come sooner than 2010+ RS models should last longer, and their are some quite pointless very low volume sellers including but not limited to A7 convertible, and R8 TDI what would the A7 be? a 4 door cabrio or a a luxo barge 2 door cabrio? in which point shouldn't it take a differnet nomenclature and one simple question, do they already have the specs of the upcoming 5er and E to know that they WILL be 100Kg below? or is it just marketing talk given that the A6 is already fully in the design phase and it will most likely NOT be changed fundametally at least from a mechanical point of view until release? |

I'm glad that We'll see the new A8 within a year. The S8 still looks fabulous and I'm curious to see how Audi are going to improve on such a car. R8 V12 TDI coming out right before 2012 will be one very dull release specially when Audi has been teasing us with that engine the latest 12-24 months. In the 2012 the F430, 911, Gallardo and Z06 will be replaced making an R8 with a heavy V12 diesel look like a thing of the past.

Eg. E60 chassis + all the suspension parts + entire front part of the body frame (!!!) are already made of aluminum. So A6 with less alu than E60 will be 100kg lighter than the upcoming F10 (which will also feature not only a large amount of alu but a bunch of magnesium as well)??? BS! Or it's a clumsy translation ... More likely: New A6 will be 100kg lighter - to be more competitive to comparable models of other brands. ![]()

| Re: Updated Audi schedule Great news. An all new A8 for April of 2009, making it a 2010 model here in the U.S? That means for 2010 the S will be facelifted and the 7 and A8 will be all new. Going to be a dogfight. EnI, I think they mean that the next A6 will be that much lighter than competitive cars right now because they have no idea what the next 5-Series will weigh. M
