Re: Mclaren F1- Still The One

I am currently trying to be adopted by the Sultan of Brunei so he can pass off one of his 8 F1's (or any of his other cars)

Thank you Artist. What an awe-inspiring photograph. I battle to find the words that'll do justice to this masterpiece.

Even after all these years it looks as fresh as dr Dunkel's daisy.

^

Let us know if you succeed in the adoption. The F1 sure is still the best looking sportscar ever. Imagine how efficient the car is, with 'only' 627 hp it manged 386 km/h. Eat that bugatti and koenisegg and all others!

Re: Mclaren F1- Still The One

Folks, you've got to follow that link and read the article. It's superb; written with the passion and attention to detail of a true enthusiast. I've forgotten how good Ian Kuah is at his trade.

The best "Motoring Moment on the Internet" I've had in months - the stuff of dreams. Thank you Artist.

What I find so interesting about the McLaren F1 is that I can read a dozen threads about the Veyron and combined they don't come close to inspiring me in the way that this car does. Sure, I dream about what it might feel like to drive a Veyron, but I dream about an F1 a dozen times more!

In fact, despite all of the mighty hypercars of recent none comes close to grabbing my attention and filling my imagination as powerfully as the F1. Not even some of my most favoured cars like the Carrera GT, Enzo, 599 come close to matching it for emotional appeal.

It maybe just me, but it's a bit painful to see this beauty being thrashed and driven so hard.

Dam the guy driving it butchers the 3rd gear quite a lot. On the track it seems to soft. 1-2-3-4th gears are so short. More impressive is how this thing accelerates never ending surge of power, I mean even in 5th and 6th gears the car still makes the effort and struggles to pull aggressively.
