Despite by fued with the messy front-end, the sound is mindblowing. I can't wait to see the car on Top Gear.

Yep...especially the key being "left" in the car. Really? You think they would just leave the keys to their show-car that's worth close to half a million?

Hmm...you could be right, I'm not too sure. What I do remember is the first time I ever saw them was on an episode of either Top gear or Final gear with Tiff Needell testing out a light blue E46.

Top Gear tested...

YouTube - Top Gear - Lexus LFA reviewed by Richard Hammond [720p]

YouTube - Top Gear - Lexus LFA's Wet Power Lap by the Stig [720p]

Could do without the silly animation and could do with more tire-smokes and power-slides, but I'm weird like that, I guess. ...Also kudos, for using a song from Them Crooked Vultures...been hooked on that album since it came out.

Oh, I'd like to point out that it's faster than an R8 5.2 in the wet by 3 seconds. And the R8 with Quattro, was driven in the wet. While I'd take the 458 Italia over this, it's mainly because it's cheaper and it's a Ferrari. This car is tied for a close second along with the MacLaren MP4-whatchamacallit. This was a gallantly epic endeavor for ToyoMoCo, and with the pedal mounted on the floor, unintended acceleration seems less likely.

^ lol hoffmeister, I agree 100%. I was annoyed byt he silly animation and wanted more power slides and fat smokes.

The LFA is incredibly tempting. I think this is the first Lexus that I really like.

Only if it was reasonably priced, like a GTR or slightly more, I'd get it in a heart beat.

Thumbs up Autocar vid...

Don't know if this has been posted, but that sound...
YouTube - Autocar meets the Lexus LFA

Also, in the Top Gear posting, I meant to type Gallardo, not the R8. Guess I had R8 on my mind that day.

lexus-350000-sports-car: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance

Interesting article, in that Lexus wants to maximize its exposure. The second to last paragraph irked me a bit

Quote:
"We want people who will drive the car, who will be seen in the car," said Paul Williamson, national manager at Lexus College, Toyota's dealer training school. "We want it to be seen on the right roads, in front of the right restaurants and not just being enjoyed by one individual in their private garage."
I feel like Lexus will be an absolute control-freak when it comes time pick customers. Just a little too elitist.

It is their car and they do whatever they want with it

They want people like Bill Gates to drive it. I guess that is a good image builder... for some.

How about Ferrari then. As I understand they always put Ferrari owners ahead of other customers eg. some special models can only be ordered by existing Ferrari owners.

That's not elitist, that's just good business. They want their car to be seen on the road and not locked away in somebody museum of a garage. Not to mention, they'd rather give it to someone who cares more about the car than the badge it comes with, as evidenced by the multitude of haters on this forum.

Hell if I designed a car, I wouldn't want douchebags driving it and ruining my company's name.

Points well taken...This IS the car that Lexus wants to redefine themselves, I guess they'll start to adopt the other high-end carmakers' practices.

And that's true about the Enzo, I did remember reading that sometime ago.
