| Lamborghini Miura ........... I feel like we have passed an era of extreme cars.. that ended now with the Zonda F.. and the Veyron.. I belive this car along with the promised supercar with near 1000hp from pagani, and the coming F60.. will be the next era of extreme cars.. I really hope we will see a new Porsche supercar around 09 and i hope that McL and MB come together and realease a car under the McL name.. with a MB engine and so on.. Ohh and i hope BMW will join in to.. So if my dream come true there will be very exciting times to come

| Re: Lamborghini Miura. So it won't be as sporty as an Enzo, Carrera GT, or Pagani, but it will probably be a little sportier than an SLR. I really hope they get the design right on this one. This artist's rendering by the magazine isn't so hot. |

| Re: Lamborghini Miura. I like the chop. It's looks really good and for you who haven't noticed it is based on a Ford GT. I really hope that VAG will bring the sexy beast back. Hopefully Ferrari will bring back the testarrosa. |

| Re: Lamborghini Miura. You will never be able to create a car more beautiful than the original Miura - I think they should just forget about it. Let the Miura name be specific to the original - everybody loves the original Miura, it's so attractive, so classic, you just can't recreate perfection. As for that Phaeton, VW should quit while they're ahead, The Phaeton has been a failure, why don't they just drop the whole idea. IMO a five door hatch would almost certainly be a disastrous mistake - would anyone here want one? |

| Re: Lamborghini Miura. The Miura was a very beautiful car, hand down. But you know how those manufacturers are, they allways want to recreate those beautiful classics into a modern version. If the Lambrghini design team aren't too crazy with the pen the car can turn out to be very beautiful and successful as the SLR. I'm not saying that the SLR is as beautiful as the Gullwing but it did turn out to be eyes candy. That shows that it is possible to recreate a classic if you have a very good design team. |

| Re: Lamborghini Miura. Sure, I know what you mean Luw, but why can't they create a new model with it's own name - a car that could be as much a classic of our time that the Miura is to the 1970's. |

| Re: Lamborghini Miura. That new pS looks alot better.. but still abit on the tame side..it should be more aggresive..or maybe not.. cause the miura was more beautiful than aggresive imo..

| Re: Lamborghini Miura. They want to keep the name Miura to cash in on the name's unanimous approval and respect - why should they let it go to waste, and start a new name all over again, where they will have to spend money on marketing to let the name to known to everybody, all over again? True, they may screw it up and destroy the Miura legacy - but I think it's a chance they will take. I agree with Roberto. They should not continue with a 5-door hatchback. It's like admitting defeat that their sedan wasn't a good car. It was an excellent car that nobody wanted, and just leave it at that. Why degrade yourself to the world's most expensive 5-door hatcback?!

| Re: Lamborghini Miura. I think the pics were posted somewhere, but anyhow, here's the press release... Automobili Lamborghini Presents the Lamborghini Miura Concept Jan 5, 2006 The House of the Raging Bull has brought back a legendary historical name with the introduction of its Lamborghini Miura Concept car. The Lamborghini Miura Concept will be the first Lamborghini vehicle to be conjured from the pen of Walter de’ Silva, Head of Lamborghini Design. De Silva’s other responsibilities include serving as Head of Design of Audi Group. The talented designer’s idea for the new concept was simple: a retro-inspired look heralding back to one of the auto world’s most famous icons, the legendary Lamborghini Miura. Automobili Lamborghini eagerly begins the New Year with the much anticipated unveiling of the Lamborghini Miura Concept, a modern interpretation of the Lamborghini Miura. Currently celebrating its fortieth anniversary, the Miura was originally designed by Marcello Gandini and first publicly presented at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show by Ferruccio Lamborghini and Nuccio Bertone. To this day the Miura is widely recognised as one of the most beautiful cars ever created. The new concept model which, as of now, is strictly a concept with no firm date set for its production launch, is the inspired creation of de’ Silva, the world-famous Italian designer. He has redesigned every aspect of the car while remaining absolutely faithful to the original form. The new car retains the extraordinary purity of line, characteristic of the original Miura: the designer’s intervention has been defined by refining the contours and eliminating any superfluous detail, in order to enhance the clean, simple lines and perfectly balanced proportions of the original that so impassioned enthusiasts. The restyling of the lower part of the body takes the car’s structural strength and aerodynamic performance to new heights, without disturbing the delicate aesthetic equilibrium. Even the touches of contemporary styling applied to the interior, the lights and the wheels have been carefully measured to achieve a homogenous design that is both timeless and immediately recognisable. A so a true design icon is born. "Over the last two years," explains Walter de’ Silva, "I have often dreamed of redesigning the Miura. Now, thanks to my new position at the head of Lamborghini design, and the enthusiastic support of the Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, I have been able to turn that dream into a reality." The Lamborghini Miura Concept will be on show at the Lamborghini stand at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
