Would this be branded CS then?

I have no detailed info, but IMO the car will be release in the 2nd half of M5 lifecycle. Just like M6 CSL.

CS badge? I do not know. Maybe it will be just a M5 with "Competition package". Like I said - its not sure it will get more powerful V10. But there will be some modifications making the car even more hardcore.

Badging is something causing gray hair to BMW marketing guys & girls.

1. How to badge upcoming V8 turbo engines?
2. How to badge Sports versions of X-series? "Si" or "iS"?
3. How to badge MINI wagon - BMW can not get Traveller copyrights?
4. How to badge possible M versions of X6 (or even X5) - M X6 or X6 M will bring legal clash with Mazda.
5. How to badge future M version of 1er (not in this generation), while M1 has some special brand cache in it?

etc.

Re: Autobild: Audi S6 vs BMW M5

S6 in this test score points over M5 in space inside the car, trunkspace, gearbox (since it was easier to use), warranty and base price.
Its up to the buyer to decide what what he/she is looking for when buying a car. I think the majority of the members here would go with the M5 if money wasnt an issue, I know I would but 5er/A6 and E-class are all large cars so to be honest a M3, RS4 would be my choice over M5 and S6.

Re: Autobild: Audi S6 vs BMW M5

For me the interior has to look very good, that's why I like Audis!

The exterior is less important, but still important because when you're driving a car you can't see what it looks like from the outside! The car has to look desent though, cause when I wash it it has to be enjoyable!

That's why I wouldn't ever buy an Audi Q7!

say that to consumers....any body can make a rediculously good car for a price but only special cars like the z06 and ///m5 offer so much for relatively so little....i thought i started liking the s6 but it just looks gaudy and boring in these pics and don't get me started on the interior

Well, it shouldn't be the only criteria that determines the winner in this particular class, but it should definitely be one of the deciding factors. Afterall at the end of the day these vehicles still have to deliver an amount of luxury otherwise this class would be totally pointless.

which they both do. it all about taste which you prefer. And regarding size, both are large cars, both exterior wise and interior wise.

Re: Autobild: Audi S6 vs BMW M5

Great test.

You all forget that the S6 has got 435 hp and not 420.

Anyway, the S6 just looks so much better then the Beemer, as some of you pointed out. But, the M5 is just a beast, compared to the little brother of the frothcoming RS6, which will defenitely do the beemer some big problems.

Great pics btw.
