The car is a damn luxury car and not a sport car. The car is comfortable and elegant, and is not meant to be taken on a track. Last edited by Centurion; 10-12-2005 at 07:45 AM. |

| Re: [scans] Britain's best driver's car 2005 - M5, CLS 55 and many more The new M5 is a worthy replacement for M5 E39. M5 E60 can transport 4 people, the car has comfort, its practical, equipped with all kind of luxury but at the same time sporty, fast and entertaining to drive. The whole package is suberb. I love this car. "The M5 simply isnt a circuit car, although its an unsurpassed hooligan if you've got an old set of rear tires to kill. Its simply too heavy and although it did better on the road, our tight and challenging routes just didnt suit it as well as the open flowing roads of previous tests. Its an incredible package, with arguably the finest engine on sale at any price, but just occasionally it felt slightly blunt, constrained by its weight. Factor in its inherent practicality , though, and its still awesome."

| Re: [scans] Britain's best driver's car 2005 - M5, CLS 55 and many more Yeah, but it is faster on wet than the F430, having the 4 th time. On real roads, only the Ford GT (= spiritual descendent of THE Great Ferrari HUMILIATOR the GT40 ) and the Noble 400 can best it, well probably. M5 wins another batlle against the Ferrari (on wet). ![]() |

| Re: [scans] Britain's best driver's car 2005 - M5, CLS 55 and many more I don't get it. These magazines which supposedly "know everything about cars" flame the CLS55 AMG!? Hello, check out AMG's philosophy on their website and then hopefully you'll understand. AMG = super fast comfortable long distance cruiser Mercedes-Benz. I put Mercedes-Benz in bold because AMG still sticks to traditional Mercedes values like comfort for example. Of course the steering feel will be slightly vague as it helps control the car at a more relaxed pace at high speeds on the Autobahn etc. If these guys want the best AMG track cars, from what I've read, it goes something like this (in this order): 1) SLK55 AMG 2) CLK55 AMG 3) SL55 AMG

| Re: [scans] Britain's best driver's car 2005 - M5, CLS 55 and many more They are testing one of the latest and sportiest car from each company. If they wanted a sportier car than M5 they could taken M6 or M3 CSL. The M5 and the CLS55 are compared to each others but they dont belong in this gang cause they are different type of cars but since it the latest and sportiest car from each carbrand they having them in this comparison. If the CLS55 wasnt in this test then they wouldnt have the M5 here either. This test wasnt just about laptimes, just like it says, "best drivers car 2005". Its too much focus on what car that should be here or not. Its just a fun and entertaining and also not a common cartest. Just take it for what it is.

| Re: [scans] Britain's best driver's car 2005 - M5, CLS 55 and many more When the words "drivers car" comes up im thinking aggressive driving which i would choose the M5, but if the word is leaning towards comfort and travel, then i would say the CLS.
