| Confused.com/Why wasn't the Q5 used? Ah thats right... Because the X1 wouldn't have been best in class then

| it'about the transition between the windshield and the too long and flat hood-front overhang.

| I see... To me overall design and lines "flow" better than anything on X3, greenhouse in particular in that shot; front is way more aggressive and even if it's a tad longer then it should be, front overhang looks better and much more engaging than the one X3, mainly due to headlight design... Anyway, X1 looks fresh, dynamic, more balanced and overall 100 times better looking than X3... and with only some nice rims, nice tires and better colour, it's the best looking car in it's class. And i'm sure best driver's car too... ![]()

| ![]() X1 for me too, looks great here. The X3 is just so outdone by its smaller, younger brother. M

If someone want a offroader there are much better cars on the market, you buy yourself a X1 for other reasons.

| Typical AutoBild comparison. Still laughing to see the A3 here. Nevertheless have to say, that I still like the X3 and its interior. Not as modern as the X1, but there is sth. special about this car I like.

| As for me I will never understand the sense of cars like X1, Tiguan, X5, ML and so on. Maybe its because I'm European... But please... why does anybody need or want anything that's neither fish nor fowl? An SUV, SAC etc. isn't an adequate offroader nor an adequate roadcar. Offroad they have no chance to beat real offroaders like GL, Defender etc. Onroad they are heavier, more clumsy, slower and less economic than comparable cars without "highering" (is there any adequate word in English? But well... as long as the market wants those cars, they will be built and sold. In my opinion that's a very curious evolution of cars... ![]() It's all about prestige, I think. As for me I'd take the A3 in this comparison... |

| Same class cars...Χ3-Q5-GLK , X1-Tiguan-Q3 , and of course A3-1 series-Golf... This is a very awkward selection of test cars...

| I think I know, why they choose these cars. Bmw x3 as a older, bigger brother to compare driving potencial, besides it's more expensive, so that'll be easier to say if it's worth to spend more money on a x3. Audi a3. Actually i think it's bmw x1's class, because when audi will set out competitor it'll be Q3, based on a3. Going this way we can say bmw x1 is just lifted 1 series with diffrent body. So they were trying to find out if it's reasonable to pay some extra cash for lifted car, and they didnt chose bmw 1, because there was another 2 bmw in this compare. And the last one, VW tiguan to find out off road potential which I suppose is the best in it's class, isnt it?. Last edited by master; 10-31-2009 at 10:16 PM. Reason: some mistakes |
