Well andreas, for a start, a sedan/coupe beaten by an SUV with much higher center of gravity. More power to weight ratio. and lower coefficient of drag.

lol that hair is a great indication of body roll

Lol, 2 secs slower? But then again, not so weird, when you consider it is a Merc on a track.

I wonder when the M version comes out, how many 'sports cars' it is going to humiliate.

Yeah i wonder that too.

I think BMW out done themselves, goin back i remember the CLS AMG was almost as fast as M5 and M6 around track so BMW's truck is faster than it's sedan and coupe siblings

Guess we'll have to find out when the new M X6 is out..

You remember wrong, unless of course ~2 secs is close.

From German Sport Auto.

The Mercedes CLS63 AMG had the optional Performance Package with larger brakes and wheels.

Time Hockenheim

M5: 1m 16,8 s
CLS63 AMG: 1m 18,5 s

And (probably tested on a diff day).

Re: BMW X6 Vs Porsche Cayenne GTS Vs Mercedes CLS500

Mercedes doesn't build track cars - and probably they will never do… …but for long distance, fast travelling on the autobahn, comfort etc: They are great!
But for track driving - even I would buy a BMW M…or Audi RS…
