Umm, how relevant is this considering the huge price differential?

The CLS is still king to me with the CC close behind. The others are great cars, but just meh imo when compared to the CLS and CC

Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door

Aston - It is just a DB9 with extra doors - boring and unimaginative.

Karma - Is stunning inside and out - but I want a real engine with those looks, not some electric mess. I so hope they use a BMW I6 or MB V8 to power "other" versions of the car.

Jaguar - It really doesn't fit here as much and some interior pieces are cheap, engines could be better - otherwise a good car.

Lambo - Not sure about yet. Need to see it in person.

CLS - Nothing wrong here, but it has aged.

Porsche - Just plain ugly right now. Looks like a elongated 911.

CC - My choice, right price, lovely interior and a surprise stunner on the road.

Rapide, followed by the old-ish CLS, can't wait for the mk. 2.

Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door

umm why are there concept cars in this poll..
We could have added the CS aswell then..

SO my vote is from a production point of view..
And the fact is..no other production 4door coupe looks better than the Original ( CLS)

Choose the CLS here!! Still the best design in this segment! And in my opinion it definitely has the most stunning interior!! Would have choose the Passat CC - but I don't like the interior…

Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door

Mr Siko, thanks for the great poll. May I just add though that I believe the XF to be too mainstream and too saloon-like to cut it as a "saloupe" in this ensemble. I believe a Maserati Quattroporte to be a more fitting inclusion based on its great looks, exclusivity and outright sportiness.

~~~
The profile shot of the Panamera in this company shows just how close it is to a long hatchback is it. Even a fastback descriptor is flattering.
In my opinion the Aston Rapide is most successful at integrating classic elegance with 4 door coupe-like proportions.
Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door
On looks alone, the humble VW beats all the other prestigious contenders.
Volkswagen should get their hands on the Audi S4's 3.0 TFSI engine and make an "R" version of the CC; 333 Bhp + four-wheel-drive + DSG + coupé-ish looks = Quite a combination, I reckon.
Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door
Estoque: Concept that will NEVER be built.
CLS: The pioneer, I bow down to greatness but the headroom in the rear is too cramped.
Passat CC: Superb design and value for money, no shame in driving that one.
Rapide: A stretched DB9 with tiny rear doors and head room for midgets in the rear. No thanks! Save yourself from compromises and buy a DB9 or Quattroporte.
Panamera:
The most sensible choice. A Four door car created in true German automobile spirit, functional and promises high performance. It sounds awesome, will drive awesome, looks awesome and best of all can comfortably transport four adults unlike the other cars and concepts in this poll. Lastly it will sweep the floor with all other four door cars in the performance department. I prefer cars with substance over anything. Vanity never lasts long.
Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door
-I voted CLS, still a stunning car. It impresses me everytime.
-As second, well... The Panamera. I really like it, it's maybe not coupe-ish or really gorgeous, but it's a typical Porsche and I like that.
-Third: the splendid Lambo. Really looks fantastic, this thing.
-Fourth: the Rapide. It's far behind. Unimaginative, already dated. I adore the Astons, the DB9, V8, Vantage are all extraordinary. But this one is messed-up.
-Last: the Passat. I saw it IRL, in various colours with various rims. Never managed to convince me a bit. It just doesn't do anything to me, nothing. I'll take a Scirocco over a CC in a heartbeat, thank you.
Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door
Aston Martin Rapide: As funky as the diesel Cayenne, not my type!
Fisker Karma: Generic looks & a complete (doner car) build-up, I'll never pay such money for a kit-car... sort of!
Jaguar Xf: Yes, it's a good looking sedan but, it's not a coupe-ish 4-door car at all mike!
Lamborghini Estoque: Most-weird Lambo ever! They should stop thinking about anything beyond 2-door & 2-seats!
Mercedes-Benz Cls-Class: The real segment leader & a proper coupe-ish sedan & Cls-63 Amg for me please!
Porsche Panamera: Porsche's designers should stop rocking hard-core shit immidiately on week/working days!
Volkswagen CC: Closest thing to Cls in this segment & also a great-looking sedan!
My choice: Mercedes-Benz Cls followed by the Passat-Cc!
Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door
I've driven the VW Passat CC today and yesterday! 2.0 TDI, manual, full option. Great car.....the automatic parking option is freaking awesome!!
If we ONLY look at the side view pic, the Passat even is the prettiest of them all, imo!
The CLS wins for me. It's the original and all the others should be better looking than the 'prototype' that started the whole niche, but they don't. Some look better in particular areas, but overall the CLS and VW have done this concept the best imo.
Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door
Rapide and CS are the best looking ones, but both are concepts. Passat CC is the best looking of the production ones. I saw the one with the sports package (the one they showed at Montrey) and was stunned at how good it looked.
The Porsche and the Jag doesn't really look like a coupe.
Re: Choose Your Coupe-ish Four-Door
The Fisker Karma is the sexiest HANDS DOWN! I mean come on! Just look at it. The Aston Martin would look pretty cool as well if it didint look so much like a stretched DBS.
I vote the CLS. The original is still the best in terms of proportion. A tough act for MB, and anyone else for that matter, to follow, but I'm sure they'll come out swinging.
