Re: bmw & porsche vs Mercedes & audi

wow.. this is hard..
for me..
i love porsche.. and i like BMW after MB..
Audi..is great to..but i have issues with them not being RWD..and looking similar to each other..

so i really dont know..

But.. MB does it all.. they have a wide range..so i guess for now..give me audi and MB..

Re: bmw & porsche vs Mercedes & audi

Difficult question!! Do you refer this question to the cars, the management or the sth. else!

I think I would decide for BMW & Porsche! They build awesome cars and they know how to increase there advantage - epecially Porsche does!

Re: bmw & porsche vs Mercedes & audi

Now that I have thought about it I might need MB in the near future. With Panamera, Cayenne, Boxster, 928 and 911 Porsche fans won't need to support any other brand. Porsche will have every car you need.

Re: bmw & porsche vs Mercedes & audi

Oh, the nostalgia ...

Imagine the BMW Group portfolio as initially planned:

MINI
BMW
Land Rover (After Rover debacle sold to Ford to gain some fresh money)
Porsche (Porsche / Piech family wasn't interested in the sale - sometimes in late 80s / early 90s)
Bentley (VW was better bidder for RR Motors, but purchase did not include rights for RR name - which were sold to BMW)
Rolls-Royce

A perfect portfolio of premium brands.

Re: BMW & Porsche vs Mercedes & Audi

Hard...
My first is Mercedes, but I am no fan of Audi...
For me it would be Mercedes and Porsche...

But I chose Mercedes and Audi. Because of Mercedes.

I don't quite understand this poll. What is the thing? A merger, a personal preference (then not enough choice)?
Audi and Mercedes are competitors, Porsche and BMW not...

Re: BMW & Porsche vs Mercedes & Audi

Well, Porsche and BMW are 2 of my favorites and they also make the sportier cars, so easy pick for me. I also always thought they complemented each other well with both putting emphasis on sports more than luxury and at the same time not having too much of a product overlap with BMW making the sports sedans/coupes and Porsche doing outright sports cars. Cayenne being the exception.

Re: BMW & Porsche vs Mercedes & Audi

This was actually real easy for me. If I had all the money in the world, my garage would be filled with these 2 brands anyway: Bmw and Porsche.

Bmw is a logical choice, it's been in my blood since I was little. And if you ask who's the other brand that make extremely special cars, well Porsche is legendary.

Re: BMW & Porsche vs Mercedes & Audi

Hmm...this is a bit unfair. You have 2 sporty brands and 2 more luxury oriented brands against each other.

Now if you had MB & Porsche and BMW & Audi that would be a little more like it. Unfortunately, I cannot vote in this poll.

Re: BMW & Porsche vs Mercedes & Audi

Voting was easy enough for me but the groupings aren't balanced.

Set up another poll and compare the results:

BMW and Mercedes

vs

Audi and Porsche

That'll make for some interesting reading...

Easy, Mercedes and Audi for me.

Love Porsche, but BMW still has some undesireables in their lineup as far as I'm concerned, especially compared to Audi.
