Okay, try to be as objective as possible here, which is prettier the S65 or the S8?

lol I was thinking about this earlier and my final desicion was that S8 looks better but I miss the engine from S65

My definiton of a luxury car. Discreet and elegant.

I'd have to say that S8 is prettier, but the S65 is more agressive looking. Tough choice to have to make. I'd take a S65 over an S8, but only by a slim margin.

I love the way S8 looks. It's really a bad ass. The Benz is really cool from 3 views; left, right, and back. I just think the front looks to much japanese with those lights. I just don't like it.

The Audi has a beautiful design, IMO one of the most beautiful Audis ever made. The S8 is a killer.

My vote for the S8.

Personally I would take the Mercedes before the AUDI - with a designo interior of course, but I have to admit I'm completely in love with the looks of the S8

I'm still a Mercedes boy at heart and the W221 certainly seems to have returned to the level of quality that we Merc fans appreciate.

As far as looks go though, the A8 definitely has the edge.

If this poll was about performance of course everyone would choose S65 but since its about the look. S8 gets my vote.

Yupp...even me... The performance is from another planet. Make the S8's performance look like a baby.

I have to say, the AMG treatment blends well with the iffy, overstyled wheel arches of the W221. The car does look quite muscular - a far cry from the discrete q-car looks of the previous S AMG's.

Whilst the frontal styling is nice and cohesive however, the rear end of this S AMG is a tad incongruous; a seemingly odd amalgamation of luxury and sporty styling cues.

S8 gets my vote by a substantial margin.

At least in the publicity photos the S65 has presence like no other W221 but when it comes to being pretty the S-class is still a far cry from the S8. So the S8 gets my vote.

S65 for me the S8 is a very disturbing car with its ugly grill and underpowerd engine.. so no thnx to that.. and even in teh S8 vs W12 poll i voted for the W12.. wich imo is the ultimate A8...

ohh and the S65 just look at it.. its so agressive and phat that its almost redicolous

I'm inclined to agree with you on that martinbo, it's a problem the Bentley Arnage T suffers from all over.

When I first saw pictures of the S8 for a couple of weeks ago I thought "Wow, that car looks really aggresive and I want one ASAP" but now when the S65 is around the bend things have changed. Just by looking at the front bumper, side skirts and the rear of the S65 one can instantly figure out that this car serious, a serious beast.

The styling is very aggresive without being overdone and compensating the elegance of the flagship. A black exterior would make the chrome pipes and details stand out and shook all the driver behind the wheel of their 1.8l cars. My inteiror choice would defintly be a orange/brown interior with the sexy black designo wood to go with it.


BTW did I also mention that the car packs 612hp and pushes 0-100km/h i just 4.4 sec?

Somehow the Bentley, though, manages to resolve the luxury / sporty theme a little more successfully than this W221 S65 and a little less successfully than the W220 S65. Go figure.

I dunno, maybe it's me but according to my eye this W221 bodyshell just isn't suited to the AMG treatment from the A pillar aft. Frontal 3/4 is terrific but that's where the good news ends.

This gotta be the truth of the day :

Though i dont like the new S, this AMG kit is awesome. S wins for me.

The S65 looks aggressive, and I like that. I don't like the boot lip on the S8 and the grill is a little too overpowering; it steals all the attention from the other parts of the car. The grill does not fit the lines of the S8 IMO.

S65 for me.
