For more than a year now, Kimi Raikkonen's signature has appeared on a long-term Ferrari contract for 2007 and beyond.

That is the claim of a Ferrari 'source', who told Switzerland's Blick publication that the information is common wisdom up and down the corridors of Maranello.

“I am surprised that the (news) was not made official a long time ago,” the newspaper quoted the source as saying.


The red-coloured destination of McLaren's 26-year-old Finn has been spoken about at Ferrari 'for months', the source added.

Well, F1 happens to be together with Soccer the most popular sport on the planet. And most people on this board loves it.

i REALLY doubt it..if this is it..kimi is a liar..he told the public he hadn't signed for anything with anybody back in Jan..so we still need a final confirmation..

This rumour keeps resurfacing every now and then, I wouldn't put too much weight on it. If it's gonna happen then it's gonna happen but unless we get some sort of confirmation, we should treat this as a rumour and nothing else. Ferrari is the most evocative name in F1 racing and the rumour mill is eager to connect every talented driver with it at one point or another.

He's just a little baby always cryin and pointing fingers at everybody else for failures...never liked him...never will...in fact even Mika nagged less than he does...But I don think it matters at all...drivers are relatively unimportant in F1...it's the car that matters...if you let me drive a Renault this week, I will get the podium...better drivers only matter when all the cars have the same capabilities....I can prove it mathematically...

it's just me...sorry, can't please everyone...

I'm sick of all the speculation. I'd rather just wait until something is officially announced or reliably leaked (which doesn't happen much). I'd frankly rather see Kimi at McLaren battling it out with Alonso than at the sinking ship Ferrari seems to be.

There are always speculations about the best driver going to Ferrari etc. The case with Kimi is just such a case. All we can do is wait for something official.
