It has Novitec fingerprints all over it which has some goods and some bads in terms of looks. But overall I think it looks pretty good. But I would never want to own one. That engine must require maintenence worth multiple times the car.

Re: Novitec F430 Spider, 636bhp

A 4.3 L V8 making 480 odd hp in normally aspirated form is pretty stressed, but taking it up to 636 hp is going pretty steep. If the engine was built extra tough to start with then it should not be OK, but Ferrari has never had the reputation of Porsche for innate engine strength (though over the last few years they really have liufted their game).

But still...I would not say no to a 636 hp Ferrari...

Extremely impressive, as fo rengine stress, sure, its gotta be pushing the limits and beyond, but certainly it is obviously possible. Im certain Novitec would have ran some serious tests first....

Or at least you would think that, right?

Re: Novitec F430 Spider, 636bhp

I think we get into the issue of reliability vs. durability: maybe Novitec can give you a pretty good guarantee the thing will hold together for 35,000 miles (?) before requring a rebuild. As long as you can be sure the thing won't blow up b4 then, well, I think that is fair, given the power from the small capacity.

Re: Novitec F430 Spider, 636bhp

Bi-Compressor Ferrari F430 Spider by Novitec

Novitec’s twin-supercharger Evoluzione pack for the Ferrari F430 has been on the market since April of last year but until now the German tuner never offered the kit for the equally potent F430 Spider convertible. Featuring the same twin Rotrex superchargers as its hardtop sibling, the Novitec-tuned Spider pumps out an Enzo-rivalling 656hp and leaves the standard model with only 490hp eating its dust.

For the extra power, engineers added a pair of twin Rotrex superchargers, which increased the pressure of air being fed to the engine. Additionally, the engine’s electronic management system was tweaked with a Motronics ECU and a wind-tunnel tested aerodynamic package with a new rear-spoiler was added. Acceleration figures remain much the same as the hardtop, with the 0-100km/h coming up in just 3.7 seconds and top speed climbing to 348km/h.
Other features of the package include a separated oil-circuit, a heat insulated induction tract, water-cooled intercoolers with water pumps and additional radiators, upgraded fuel injectors and reinforced drive belts with dynamic tensioners.
