| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) ^^ Hmmm I had not noticed it. The 5er is influenced by the old Mercs. |

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) Hey the copy is not necessarily as good as the original... I mean, the actual Audi layout is very, very inspired by the e36 BMW... ![]() ![]() There is a lot of inspiration from the one to the others, ideas that are abandonned by the ones and taken by the others, crossing ideas...

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) The truth is that many designs are similar because there aren't very many ways to design a interior layout without taking a big risk by stepping out the box. |

| Sure, but I think it's the first time I hear somebody saying that Bangle interiors are influenced by old Mercedes interiors. Personally I like the A6's interior more than 5er's or W211's interior.Quote:

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) I think it's safe to say that the new E's interior will resemble the GLK's interior layout, mainly dash, center console and the COMAND screen. The only difference I see is the E won't have those squared air vents, it will have air vents similar to the S' with a clock between them. The other thing is that it won't have those rotary AC controls like the C's and GLK's. The AC controls look (again) like buttons in the S. What I wanna know is will it have a COMAND controller like the one in the C & GLK with an arm rest or will it have the one in the S/CL with the wrist rest and keypad. I should also mention that I think it will also have similar tail lights to the ones on the CLC. What you guys think?? Pictures for comparison: New E-Class interior spy shot ![]() GLK Concept's interior AC controls Armrest and COMAND controller

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) i agree with your insight. as for what kind of comand controller the e-class will have, i think judging from the spyshot, the tiny hump in the middle of the armrest suggest it will feature knod with wrist rest and keypad. unfortunately tho, the interior of the new e doesn't seem attractive at all based on the spyshots. i hope the press pictures can change my opinion.

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) I fully agree with you, Yaz, for the dash. I think it will get the S/CL type of Controller/armrest, judging by the spy pics. I don't think it is a bad idea to have interiors quite similar throughout the line-up, if some noticeable difference allw you to clearly differentiate the lower and upper models. Trouble is, that this dash with the big screen connected to the counters is not that brilliant. It is quite heavy, and not particularly attractive. I like the overall squarish shape, the link with the W124, but not this big, obvious, not that good integrated screen. Let's see a better pic, maybe it will turn good... I love the actual exterior design of the newest Mercedes, but i think they could put more effort in the interior design. And unfortunately the interior is for me even more important than the exterior...

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) From AutoExpress: ![]() You've got to get up really early in the morning it you want to escape our spies! Manufacturers are normally extremely careful about hiding their top-secret new models, but our snapper caught these forthcoming Mercedes all parked in the open outside a Swedish hotel. Underneath the covers are three variants of the new E-Class – saloon, estate and CLK coupe. With winter testing now in full swing, the German firm has brought its cars to Scandinavia to undergo cold weather evaluation. Out on the road it was the four-door that underwent the most testing. As these pictures show, the newcomer is clearly influenced by the recently launched C-Class. At the front one-piece wraparound headlamps replace the existing twin-light system, while distinctive character lines run down the car’s flanks. Hi-tech systems will be be a standout feature of the E-Class, with PRE-SAFE collision warning, an ESP system that automatically adjusts the steering to compensate for cross winds and a range BlueTec diesel engines. Expect the executive Merc to make its public debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) First of all: Welcome to this forum!! And yes, you could be right - it really looks like a twin fog light. Maybe they are really going to realize this - with one light as normal "fog light" and the other one as "day running light". If this is the best integration? I don't think so... ![]()

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) Classic E-Class shape under there. They sure are testing a lot of prototypes at once. Wagons, sedans the whole thing. Time to start seeing the next CLS soon. M

| Re: 2009 E-Class Sedan & Estate (Spy pics & details) Welcome vios1! And for the double fog lights..Nice spot. I hope it is only part of the test and not the definitive design, because it looks ridiculous. Like all these Brabus, with pointless and awful double fogs... I really hope the real deal won't have double fog lights. I don't see Benz doing this, really not. I thought they wanted kind of a "boomerang" led strip in the lower air intakes as day-time light?

Double fog immediately means cheap tuning for me (even if Brabus cars are excellent, these double fogs just don't look good). And it also would be embarrassing to see the new E-Class borrowing Brabus' typical design clue...
