I reckon the new steering wheels look excellent in person!

There is a HUGE amount of component sharing from the E-class interior.

The lack of wood is a bit troubling, but we'll wait and see...

I'm not a fan of the newer MB steering wheels myself, though the rest of the interior looks really nice. I'd never take wood inlays in a coupe, though... even if it is Mercedes

To me it looks like the same steering wheel in the facelifted CLS, which looks great when you see the finished product.

It was speculated that the new CLK and E would have night vision as an option. Do you guys think this instrument cluster shoots down that idea or would they have two completely different versions available? Hope so!

The new E will have night vision as an option, we can see the camera inside the car in the spy photos.

i dont think it would be safe if it was in the command screen as it should be straight in front i think it would be distracting to be driving and looking either to the right or left and could cause a accident but with the clk instruments from spy pics i dont see where they can put it....

So the CLK will retain the gearshifter stick. Good to see!

But I also feel disappointed that the CLK didnt get a more bespoke dashboard....................

Looks like the air vents on the E class are used on the CLK, but inverted.

At the end of the day the CLK is just a coupe version of the C/E so one would expect the interior to be similar or even identical to the one in the C or E. MB has IMO done a good job personalising the interior a bit. Just look at the 3er and A5, they have 100% indentical interiors to their four door derivatives.

I'm very happy that MB is turning the CLK into a mini CL. Coupe version the C-class with with its own design and character.

Re: Next generation CLK (spy pics, CGIs, info)

Centurion is right (can we still call you Luw man? That name was cool! ) but MB has done a great job at giving the CLK a much more bespoke interior then the A5 and 3 series coupe particularly.

That it is borrowing much more from the E then the C and adopting much in common with the CL shows MB is once again pitching this car at the premium end of its segment. Making a bit more room for the rumored 4 door C class coupe perhaps?

Yeah you can still call me Luw, much shorter

Technically it will still be a C-class coupe, hence the name CLK and not ELK. The coupe version of the E-class is the CLS. An additional coupe would be very redundant, there's a big enough gap. Besides that there is the CLC for those who have a desire for small coupe.

Very nice interior.

However, one thing bugs me big time.
I hate the way the GPS-cover merges with the dials-cover. See what I mean? It's not a clean connexion. Like, I dunno, like simply glued together. I hope it's only a reflection or will be corrected on the production version

Look at the W212 by comparison, how clean and flawless the two parts are connected, they really are made of one unique piece, not two pieces glued together...

yeah i see exactly what you mean

i dnt think it will intergrate as well as the e dials cover because the e is more staright or squared up while the clk is rounded dial cover then the command cover should also have beeen rounded but maybe they will get it better in final production
