Toyota copying Mercedes again...Quality is down but promises are up!

Toyota vows to step up quality amid rising recalls

Oh Toyota, you morons, how could you let this happen?

I still love my Landcruiser, but Toyota better improve fast. It does not have the panache of the Germans to carry through a sustained quality trough.

Sad that Toyota's success has caused this. The pressure to increase output to meet demand has caused it to drop the ball on its core strength. Bad, very bad - and barely forgivable.

So does this mean that you will be buying a Merc when your LC breaks down Boz? ;) :D

No dude, I had a few horrendous experiences with MLs, E classes and S classes, it will take a while before I trust MB again to produce a quality car. My Landcruiser has been faultless, but is due for replacement in about 2-3 months. I will probably go for a Lexus, but the Audi Q7 looks interesting.

Take what you want, but i believe that Q7 would suit you better... Imagine yourelf cruising around Sydney behing the wheel of black Q7, wearing these Arnette "Swinger" sunglasses (i have one of those): [IMG]
and of course, this lady sitting right beside you:

do you really need a suv? :t-hands:

LOL TycoonGTR, yes, Keira would be impressed more by a Q7. But I have to be realistc my friend...I am just me and Keira is well...badly in need of a decent boob job. It will cost me around 12-15,000 to get her up to 38 DD, which I think is about the limit for her frame. But she is so cute!

I like the Q7, but I also like Toyota/Lexus go anywhere reputation. Whatever you may say about Toyota, the Landcruiser is in a class by itself, much like the Ford GT40 and the Nissan Skyline GT-R: they are awesome cars in their own right, regardless of the company badge.

    But we'll see...

    That's a good one, mate!(y)

I didn't say anything about your LC, man... To be honest with you, if i was to buy a real off-road vehicle, that'd be that beast of yours or some Pathfinder or such...

And i agree with you about bold letters part, 100%.

Toyota's are generally appliances, but the old Supra did have some real spunk. The Toyota's that did have some style were the Supra, some versions of the Celica and the Landcruiser.

So what does eveyrone here think of Toyota's slip in quality? Will it be start of a trend or will it be a temporary blip that will be quickly fixed?
  10. PanterroR Well-Known Member

Hopefully the other thing, a temporary blip. I guess they lack time to pay more attention on quality since they're producing enormous number of cars...

    Think it'll just be temporary.

With the kind of money they have, almost anything is possible. :D
