Yeah? And what about the new X6 M?? No Range Rover will ever beat it on the road. X6 is for on the road, Land Rover for off-road, and Range Rover in between. And BMW X models don't need low range for off roading because BMW buyers don't go off road. It's fairly simply really. X6 is an autobahn stormer disguised as an SUV. Only a very select few other SUV models come close/match this, and they're all from Germany.
klier: i was talking about the same price range. here an RRS 5.0 Supercharged is compared to X6 V8TT not X6M.
lol he is forced to love them by law I guess, after being blamed for the death of several british brands.
Ah, I see. That's correct. Over here it's like this: Range Rover Sport 5.0 Supercharged: € 124.000 Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged: € 166.000 BMW X6 5.0i: € 116.000 BMW X6 M: € 160.000
So if the X6 isn't for off-road.. Why compare it to the RR? Lets comapre it to something in the X6's leage..Such as the 5-series, that isn't for off-road and for on-road uses only (same as the X6). At this point most of you are thinking that they are not in the same class, well when you think about it they both can't go off-road and both are better on the road but the X6 isn't as good on road yet it still rubbish off road, both are around the same size (the X6 is just taller) so what is the point of it? The M5 is quicker and better handling than a X6m. The X6 isn't so great if you look at it like that, when we look at it compaired to a RR, yes it's great! It's fast, good handling and cheaper but you only get half a car which is for on road use ONLY yet the RR is good on road and good off-road. The X6 is great as a Car, but it's a SUV where it's not so good...So why not buy a 5-series with xDrive?
What an argument winner... Some people... with muney... just don't want to become slave of half assed user interface designed by a braindead nazy-mutant office drone somewhere in Germany... When you use a car everyday... and everyday you fight against an interface that should never even have reached the prototype stage you might want to wonder why you paid so much money. (unless your Max Mosley and into leather/bondageand s&M stuff). As for those defending the 'lifestyle' status of this crap on wheel, therefore nobody should expect it to be of any use offroad or in snow. Kno that some people have money... live in country where the weather can turn form charming to hell on earth in around 30 minutes. Therefore, on one side, the desire to have a luxury/confortable/sporty car is mixed with the need of soemthing able to behave properly in the snow/ice/rain with factory fitted tires. I don't even live in a praticularily bad town, but last time I went to buy some blank DVD in town, it started raining when I entered the shop and when I tried to leave the parking the water was already 30 cm high in the street with city employee in fishing gear opening the sewer manholes to... help flood the sewers and overflow... I think... And to be honest, as poseur as the Audi Q7 might look, I don't think he or any thorsen Quattro would be a complete letdown in bad weather.
The X6 is far from the biggest problem, walk into a Louis Vuitton, Chanel or Dior and you'll be greated with hundreds of products which have less practically zero functionality, such as tiny handsbags with the price tag of a 135i. Or how about all those Hublot watches that everyone is buying these days, how much better are they than a £1 mickey mouse watch at telling time? They are not because they are fashion items and so is the X6. Four door cars are bought for beauty not function.
What you say makes sense if only the rational part of your brain is used when deciding on a new car. Luckily, that is seldom the case. This is an emotional vehicle. It is a great and original desing, the ride is good if you are not expecting S-class standard and the image is sporty. The X6 makes its case, no doubt. It would never have happened, had it not been for the X5 and hence, the jeopardy from BMW's side is not that big either.
Jaaaaa.......jaaaaaaaaaa...BIG DEAL!!! Mmmm...typical fabricated Clarkson 'reality' and anti-BMW manner of the Britt. You have to own one AND with the RSA's wide open spaces...I will make my own video and show you what an X6 and X-Drive really can do! DEAL?!
