Autoblog story: Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz S-Class Mule with PRE-SCAN technology spotted? At the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz revealed its F700 concept. In addition to being a big sedan with a tiny gas engine, it also wore a version of Mercedes' PRE-SCAN predictive suspension system. The technology scans the road ahead with a set of lasers mounted next to the headlights, and then optimizes the suspension settings to soak up what's coming... Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz S-Class mule with PRE-SCAN technology spotted?
Mmmhhh, looks really nice!! The Pre-Scan is the black rectangle on the outside part of the "headligh", a "laser" lens scanning the road ahead of the car (thus needed to be integrated in a rectangle so as to be able to move vertically). So it's not officially being tested, that's awesome!
Next face lift? How many do you want? This car will be with us for 3 years..then a brand new modell.. No more FL´s
I think that this is just a car to test the pre scan, not a mule or anything. We should'nt start seeing mules for the new S-Class for another couple of years.
The facelift will hit the market this summer and this pre-scan test mule is officially kick off for the next S-Class. Though full prototypes shouldn't roll out until late their year of early 2010. But you can be sure that the testing will be looooooooooooooooong so we might actually see test mules quite soon as pre-scan, new suspension and chassi will need to have an immaculate relationship or else the pinnacle technology will fail. This is alien technology so the testing will have be comprehensive.
This is so awesome..i love it when a new S class is in the making.. The thread will be HUGE with all the spy pics..
